Yeah, supporters dont slag off their own.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View Post
The excuses and attempts to rationalise Carroll's ****ness are getting beyond a joke now. Andy's been here 10 months and here are the excuses in order :
Needs match fitness
Was signed for 5 years not 5 months. Needs time.
We need to change our style of play to suit him
He needs ammunition
Hasn't gelled with his team mates
Needs match fitness
Him and Downing are not on the same wave length yet
Needs a run of games
Still hasn't settled yet
The fans are not giving him enough support and that is why he's ****.
Have I missed any ?

Not going to happen IMO, simply because he is a Liverpool Player and the media would be on about it constantly, He is English and Because he cost mega wonga. Bringing in a more established and prolific striker could have a negative effect on him. Would be a dent to his confidence thats for sure.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostI think he means taking him out of the line of fire, relieving pressure by bringing in a more established and prolific striker, allowing him to grow as a footballer without the full weight of expectation of Liverpool fans for him to lead the line alone. An acclimatisation period if you will, facilitated by the above. Like we did with N'gog. Oh.

What's this about tears in his eyes last night?
I did think he looked quite sad and my own wild hunch is that he's not very strong mentally...some are cut out to succeed at a top club, others aren't. I worry about him to be honest. Looks like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders - like it or not a £35m move to Liverpool FC is a massive burden, especially for such a young lad. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Maybe we should let him go back on the sauce?
He was scoring for fun when he was a big boozing Geordie, then Kenny ruined him by taking him to that Boyzone gig and tee-totalising him.
Much a Torres needed his bleached hair, perhaps a return to the grog is all the big fella needs to reignite his mojo?

I remember similar posts about Lucas too, supporters ? pffft.
All those that are giving AC the benefit of the doubt are doing, is to give reasons why it has'nt worked out yet, the same reasons that have effected many players who've joined clubs with great expectations on them, and who've then gone on to be stallwarts of that club after having time to settle in, or by things just clicking into place for them.
It's the alternative to writing him off totally, as some have done, because truth is...noone knows for sure how it'll work out, so for now....and seeing as he won't get it anywhere else outside of LFC...he gets my very public support.
Woo. Hoo. Go, Andy.

I see where you guys are coming from, from the don't have a go at our own players, but the majority that are critical of him (most of them excluding people who take glee in his misfortune like truefan) do have some basis for their concern. I haven't quite written him off yet, although I'm genuinely concerned and just think he's a terrible stylistic fit for us.
Also from memory, most people slagged Cisse off (he showed a lot more than Carroll too prior to his injury) I remember almost getting myself into a state of denial to convince myself that Cisse was a great player. He was tripe, being a Liverpool supporter or not doesn't change that. If people think that Carroll, like Cisse is beyond hope I don't really understand what the problem is, they wish him the best on the pitch.
