There were quite a few clubs interested in him before we bought him, we should ring them.

I also don't think Dirk is the answer, maybe we need someone else although even Suarez hasn't been prolific, maybe its more to do with how were set up or just really unlucky

Those stats are a bit skewed, Kuyt normally plays down the right and not uptop like Carroll.
You're right Kuyt isn't the long term solution but Carroll is certainly not the solution either. We come not to play.

We have to go out and buy ourselves a striker that can score regularly.
If we don't, not only we may not qualify to CL I'd be worry that we may lose Luis, one of the few world class pieces we have left, if that happens.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

While backing AC to come good, I think we need another striker too, but it does'nt mean AC has to be sold, most would agree we could do with more firepower, and firepower that has different qualities to what we have, (like goalsOriginally posted by Mostar View PostNeither Kuyt nor Carroll are answers to our prayers.

) we'll be set nicely for the future then, but imo AC needs more time, other wise Kenny looks extremely stupid for spunking that sort of money on what would be a total flop.

At last the crowd see sense.
Nice to know that you are beginning to accept that I was correct all along.
Andy Carroll is not a footballer let alone a £35m one.
We were mugged and it has effected all transfers since.
Possibly the worst transfer in the history of British FootballLast edited by truefan999; 06-12-11, 02:18 PM.

AC may become better player imo but he doesn't fit in pass and move style of play.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostWhile backing AC to come good, I think we need another striker too, but it does'nt mean AC has to be sold, most would agree we could do with more firepower, and firepower that has different qualities to what we have, (like goals

He is too slow and sluggish and always one step behind and imo time will not change that.
The problem is that Kenny didn't just buy him. He bought Downing to provide Carroll with adequate support and that hasn't resulted in any improvement in terms of goal production.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Don't be hypocrite as I will remind you that you were firmly in favor of Kenny's decision initially as it was clearly proven recently.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

spot on IMO. He really needs to improve, also defenders are bullying him in the air and on the ground and he seems to get the head down & to be honest can't seem to stay on his feet. He fell down 6 times in the first 16 minutes last night, for such a massive guy he seems spend a lot of time on the deck, whether it's lack of aggression or just bad balance i dunno. Someone mentioned vertigo i'm starting to think that might be true (just kidding)

I've mentioned this a few times before in previous threads I think that 'plan A' should consist of players like Bellamy, Maxi, Suarez etc and a short, quick, passing game, with Downing and Carroll being 'plan B'. An expensive plan B admittedly but I think that this strategy would get the best out of the squad at the moment. If injuries occur or one of those players picks up form they may force a change of the situation but if I were in charge that's the way I would go.Originally posted by Mostar View PostAC may become better player imo but he doesn't fit in pass and move style of play.

Downing and Carroll thus far have been a real let down, and is a little scary how much they combined have cost. For a club like City, its not a complete failure, but for us 55million is a catastrophic event. If we sold both theses palyers we would be lucky to recoup 50%. But I do feel things need sorting, and we cannot afford to wait 6/18 months for both of them to maybe improve. It's a prediction thread on a wish list.
