Plastic has had a few mares as well. He's been as consistent as Downing in that sense.

Another player that ldp normally bashes, 'Hendo', provided an assist today. A superb one at that.

What i've noticed is his tendency to do the 'standard', always go for the 'normal' option, doesnt really think out of the box or do anything different. He'll go wide, dribble somewhere near to the byline, put in an average, standard cross that either gets blocked, hits the first man or sails over everybody. Once in a while he will put in a good cross of sorts, but we dont get enough men into the box.

Just very 'standard', no real spark. Bellamy has spark, Suarez does and so does Gerrard. Downing doesnt. He's pretty run of the mill.

If we have to base our assumptions on stats alone such as assists, a lot of players will look crap. Enrique is another one who is excellent but his end product is below par. There's more to it than the simplistic way ldp analyses the game.

The most important contribution an attacking winger can do is end product.

Sure he can work for the team, track back etc but comes down to end product and his is appalling. Even forgetting end product his overall game has been awful, it's there for everyone to see Nige.
