I'm bored of this arguement now.
Some people posting on the internet are adament that Carroll is ****e so by definition Dalglish, Capello, Shearer, Redknapp, Rafa, Redknapp et al don't have a ****ing clue what they are talking about.

How you can play for England at 21/22 and have "no footballing brain" or "no game intelligence" is frankly bonkers.

By all means debate that he hasn't done enough in your opinion but to slate him and post your opinion as fact is absolute bull****.

If he doesn't score again this season but knocks in 30 every season after that then he would absolutely be worth 35 million.

you could say that about any player - you could have said that about N'Gog. You're allowed to make a judgement now you know. You're also allowed to change your mind at a later date

I think even calling him "dreadful" is harsh

Lets face it 3 weeks ago this forum was in chaos over Dalglish not being good enough etc.....

The situation wasnt that bad then and for me Carroll isnt as bad as people have been suggesting

Well, that's just my choice of word. Maybe it's harsh, maybe it's not. I personally see myself as a level-headed fan, and I'm very concerned about him as things stand. But as I said, I do think he has potential and I hope he steps it up.

It's clearly a confidence thing! You dont 'lose' strength and aggression at his age and they arent injury/fitness related really. Unlike with Torres and his explosive burst of pace that he once had.

I agree with you! So why is he getting beaten in the air and pushed off the ball by defenders who are smaller than him? I find it very strange.

I know it's a forum a place where people can voice opinions and so forth but maybe as a suggestion to the Mods perhaps this thread should be closed as it's pretty negative and to be honest it's getting ****ing tedious.

The lad can't do right and I'm sick of reading all the negativity towards one of our own players it just ends up with everyone bickering with each other, it's ****ing bolloks for christ sake.

So shut it down, everyone get off the lad's back and maybe re open it again once he starts getting some much needed goals.

People are discussing - and I think, sensibly - the current issue of Carroll's form. If you don't like what you're reading, don't read the thread. It quite possibly will get worse, but what's so special about Andy Carroll? What about the Hodgson thread when he was in charge? Or Konchesky? Or any of the many other threads where people want to discuss a particular negative topic.

I don't see the problem myself. Most of the posts are reasoned. If you think it's nonsense, say why you think think that - the thread shouldn't be closed! Bloody hell. Crazy. And yeah, most people are whinging and moaning about his form, of course! To be frank I think they have every right to do so. He has been poor.

Put it this way,if he plays a role like Berbatov has for the next 5 years I'll say he wasnt worth 35m but was still a good addition to the squad.

If he carries on as is I'll say he has proved a poor buy.

If he smashes in Goals left right and centre He'll have been totally worth it.

I'll judge his worth at the end of his time here.you work away and judge him when you like.

They're only human at the end of the day. Human beings make mistakes. As things stand the signing of Andy was a monumental **** up. I'm sure Kenny will give AC more opportunities to prove himself in the future, perhaps he will take those chances, who knows.

BTW having a cap for England hardly proves you're a top class footballer - Francis Jeffers, David Nugent etc.

If you're lacking confidence, you're half hearted and dont necessarily have the belief in challenges and 50/50s. I'm sure you realise that. Fine margins, even the smallest things can make a difference at that level.

You know you could put another argument in and say he probably cant handle the responsibility of being a Liverpool player. You know, pressure and all that. Some players just dont do well at certain teams. Veron at UTD for example, and Keane after he left Tottenham to join us. Both very good players at other teams/international level. But just not suited for whatever reason at the to clubs. I honestly dont think Carroll will make it. I dont think confidence has anything to do with him losing majority of aerial challenges and also being pushed over easier then Suarez. I'm seeing another Ngog/pongolle/Cole etc.
