Kenny deserved an extended deal after his caretaker stint. The only thing i'd have wanted differently was that I'd hoped he'd have spent differently in the summer he was given the Permanent job

I think calling it a PR move is a very negative slant on it. We were in freefall, some important players were unhappy and I don't remember any particularly good candidates elsewhere being available.

Bring in a club legend - as a manager as well as a player - who is already there and knows the players and the whole set-up, and who the fans want, it's not exactly all spin is it?

To say it was done for PR misses out a a lot of the whole picture, it's a cartoon of an explanation.

Except, unlike those 2, when fit he's actually good

He is injury prone and there appear to be some issues with his attitude but when healthy he is a very talented player.

Agree with that bit - I like the guy.

However, I don't subscribe to this "he's been treated badly" thing. He's a player who has a certain style, that doesn't happen to match the style that the (new) manager wants to play. He's not going to play him for the sake of it, nor is he going to waste a space on the bench/let him rot in the reserves. Therefore it made sense for both parties that he was loaned out.

have changed my mind about carroll.......we need to use him to our advantage it's not always about pretty football it's about getting results how you can and carroll can be an advantage to us the biggest negative about him is his fee...he has shown he is capable of scoring goals and other things too many times this season we have lacked a plan b
