My wife's best mate went out with him. Even moved up to Carlisle with him. What a ****ing life he led. **** me. Their life was like a soap opera, lad's an absolute headcase. Tempestuous relationship to say the least. Saw him play a dozen or so times and he was an incredible player at that level. Could've had it all, him.

PS - how d'you know about him? Last I heard he was turning out for Blyth Spartans.

'The boys came running out saying that Andy Carroll was in there. He was waiting for a mate, I think, just hanging around. I went over to see him. I had my Wallsend kit on, so I think that helped.

'He was brilliant. He came straight over to the boys and signed autographs and posed for pictures. And he did it in a certain way. I have seen Alan Shearer sign autographs and he doesn't even look the kids in the eye, never stops moving.

I played against him when we were kids and he was a real legend amongst our age group. Made us all look like total fools. I still remember the schoolboys games he played when he was upfront with Owen. They were just unreal.

The saga was kicked out of Newcastle for drugs then they let him back in and he pinched all Phillipe Albert's stuff and sold it to buy crack. Then the bitters took him on and kicked him out. I think he was at Chesterfield too and they booted him. Last I heard he was at Spartans with his brother (also a decent player but nowhere near Jamie's standard.

But aye, he was unreal. Undoubtably the biggest waste that I'm aware of to have chucked on a pair of footy boots.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

So how old is he now?? Newcastle have had a few young players that have been using crack.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah he was at Chesterfield for about a year which is when I saw him play and he met our mate. He was phenomenal much of the time but clearly had massive problems, which became ever clearer when our mate started dating him and moved in with him.

How can a player carry on playing/moving club to club while everyone knows he's on crack?

Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll have been named in the England squad for this summer’s European Under-21 Championship.
Manager Stuart Pearce has named a provisional 40-man squad, which must be cut to 23 by June 1, and the Arsenal midfielder and Liverpool striker have both been included.
The news of Wilshere’s inclusion will come as a particular disappointment to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who had called for the 19-year-old to be left out of the trip to Denmark so he could have a summer off.
And Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish would also have preferred his £35million January signing to have an extended break, particularly after his injury problems in the second half of the season.
But Pearce, who led England to runners-up spot in 2009, is clearly keen to go one better this time around and has also included four other players who have played senior international football – Kieran Gibbs, Micah Richards, Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson.
They are joined by established Premier League stars like Chris Smalling, Daniel Sturridge, Jack Rodwell and Fabrice Muamba, as well as Chelsea starlet Josh McEachran.
                    Provisional 40-man squad:
GOALKEEPERS: Frankie Fielding (Blackburn), Scott Loach (Watford), Alex McCarthy (Reading)
DEFENDERS: Joe Bennett (Middlesbrough), Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Phil Jones (Blackburn), Michael Mancienne (Wolves - loan from Chelsea), Ben Mee (Leicester - loan from Man City), Kyle Naughton (Leicester - loan from Tottenham), Micah Richards (Manchester City), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), James Tomkins (West Ham) , Kieran Trippier (Barnsley - loan from Man City), Kyle Walker (Aston Villa - loan from Tottenham
MIDFIELDERS: Marc Albrighton (Aston Villa), Jack Cork (Burnley - loan from Chelsea), Tom Cleverley (Wigan - loan from Man Utd), Mark Davies (Bolton), Adam Hammill (Wolves), Jordan Henderson (Sunderland), Jonathan Howson (Leeds), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Henri Lansbury (Norwich - loan from Arsenal), Josh McEachran (Chelsea), Fabrice Muamba (Bolton), Jack Rodwell (Everton), Danny Rose (Tottenham), Scott Sinclair (Swansea), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal )
STRIKERS: Andy Carroll (Liverpool), Nathan Delfouneso (Aston Villa), Gary Hooper (Celtic ), Jay Rodriguez (Burnley), Freddie Sears (West Ham), Daniel Sturridge (Bolton - loan from Chelsea), James Vaughan (Crystal Palace - loan from Everton), Danny Welbeck (Sunderland - loan from Man Utd), Connor Wickham (Ipswich)
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Guessing that Kelly's omission is due to his current injury.

Has he played for them before?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                            Bad news

Can he still "refuse" to go?

He's better off this way anyways.
