Today at work a manc came and chucked a banana at me and was laughing about it and saying Scotland fans were racist, this coming from some
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One that is one of the most racist and bitter person you could meet

Before we jump the gun and pile onto the race bandwagon let's consider a few things:
1) we only know half of the story
2) how racist can a banana be????
3) why is this a racist attack and not just a case of some **** lobbing things on the pitch?
Bananas are largely associated with 1980's terrace racism so I'd say yes, chucking bananas at black players is a no go area in modern sport.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
And how do we know categorically that it was a Scot who threw it? Also, if its proven to be someone not from Scotland, will there be an acknowledgement from those quick to point the "disgrace" fiinger?

I think it's about 90% certain that it was not a Scotland fan that threw a banana, but I'll doubt people will be big enough to apologise.

I love the way that it was described as an over-exuberant Brazil fan - as though he just grabbed something close to hand where he was sitting - could easily have been an avocado or a pineapple.
Turns out a German tourist has admitted it was him.
So it wasnt one of the "neanderthal" Scots. Funny that isnt it?
The tarring of the Tartan Army with the Old Firm brush on this thread is disappointing and shows a remarkable lack of knowledge on the part of many posters. Whilst there is no doubt the Old Firm fans have acted like cunts many many times over the last few years do bear in mind that they bear no resemblance to the Tartan Army at all.
And briefly in their favour the "literally hundreds of arrests at every Old Firm game" is woefully inaccurate. The most recent record number is 34 which is of course damning. "Hundreds" is hyperbolic at best.
Tweet from Guardian Sport "Teenage German tourist admits throwing banana on the the pitch during Brazil v Scotland"
Disgraceful these Germans. Horrible b***ards. **** me do those Germans love shaming themselves. First they invade Poland, now this. I thought they disgraced themselves by their over agrressive antics at Normandy. But banana throw.
Funny how everything completely unrelated to anything else can pass off without any bother until the Germans get involved.
