I think we, as a fan base, overrate our youngsters massively. I'm not sure if this is consistent with all clubs but it seems a lot of the time the answer on here seems to be "Put Tex in the team he will solve the problem" "Ojo will solve our scoring issues" etc etc.

When realistically they probably wouldn't make much difference. Tex for a example really isn't much of a world beater, and is not better than Lallana, or Firmino, Or Milner, it goes on and on.

It's something that's happened for a long time and continues to happen now. It may come from the longing of another Stevie G.
The times they are a changin'.

I think that this is definately the case, and you can judge this when you look at many of the players we rated a couple of years ago and where they end up. Obviously we want our youngsters to do well but we need to be realistic with our expectations. In the summer people were saying we don't need Sterling because we have Ibe, now people are starting to turn on him.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        Not at all

I think, from what I've read, we've all been quite patient with the youngsters and no-one's really been rallying that they're thrown into the deep end.

What I would say now, is that, against West Ham's first team, I thought our cup team performed better than our first team, so there is something to be said for that. I personally think Texeira should be given a chance now just for the reason that if something's not working (our current system) a change here and there can get the ball rolling. Doesn't necessarily mean I rate him higher than Lallana or Firmino, just that he might be able to bring some qualities into the side that are missing. For example, he's not bad at finishing.

On that note, here's my amnesty...Henderson is just a slightly above average midfielder

Our entire squad is mid table and Klopp won't be able to turn things around.

The thing with that is at times we have played Arsenal . City and Chelsea off the pitch.

It seems like they can't perform against teams at home who stifle us.

I thought having goal scorers and we would be sorted after last year, we really need a Kane / Lukaku leading the line.

I agree, he wonlt be able to turn it around with the players we have.

If we were on a transfer embargo, couldn't sign anyone else and were stuck with the squad we have, it doesn't matter who the manager is, they're a mid table team only capable of one off performances.

That's not likely to stay that way though, as eventually he will bring in new signings and get the few who remain to raise their level.

Let's just hope the recruitment team aren't driving, because they are as much to blame for this mess as Brendan Rodgers.
