Can see Barcelona winning that game with six or seven goals. I think the Barcelona players just want to crush them once and for all and make Mourinho look like a fool.

This time it will be Real that have big defensive problems. Pepe and Ramos suspended.

You can get around 65% profit on a Barcelona win. That really is like printing money.

Football pundit Andy Townsend has told how he was threatened in a Madrid restaurant after irate Real fans mistook him for Champions League referee Wolfgang Stark.

Nearly 45% for United to beat Schalke, that's a gift too.

                  26 pages

I had the privilege to watch the first two live. Games that is, not pages.

Every football fan talks about the games between them. They are now such big games that they could probably fill a million capacity stadium. The TV companies must earn fantasy money on the games. The bookies the same.

I would say that only the World Cup final and the Superbowl is bigger as an individual event.

                            Decent read:

Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, playing for the best team. But after Wednesday night, I want Manchester United to destroy Barcelona if and when they meet at Wembley.

Because in their semi-final against Real Madrid, Barca were less than a team. They were a disgrace.

We hear a lot about Spanish football and how we must learn from it. We hear a lot about how Barcelona are "more than a club".

But apart from the brilliance of Messi - the one out of 20 outfield players on the pitch who actually tried to do a Ray Wilkins and stay on his feet - there was absolutely nothing to be learned from the Champions League semi-final first leg. Apart from the dark arts of simulation.

Some of you might be giggling at the idea of Robbie Savage having a go at cheats and divers. But if I'd been born with the talent of Sergio Busquets, Dani Alves or David Villa, you wouldn't have seen me pull some of the strokes I did earlier in my career.

And yes, Wednesday did prove what I've said here many times before, that even the best players will seek an advantage if it gives them the best chance to win. But Barcelona took that to a new level.

Real Madrid were almost as bad. Cristiano Ronaldo was at his petulant worst and Jose Mourinho's nonsensical conspiracy theories will have damaged him in the eyes of Sir Alex Ferguson when it comes to choosing the great man's successor.

But Barca's play-acting made for a terrible example and but for Messi, the best player I've ever seen live, the whole match would have been a total farce.

Barring major upsets, the final will now pit him against Wayne Rooney, and on current form they have to be the best two players in the world.

Yet Rooney is not quite in Messi's league. Here's how I rate their characteristics:

Ability to go past opponents: Messi 10, Rooney 8

Eye for goal: Messi 10, Rooney 9

                            Heading: Messi 7, Rooney 8

Work ethic: Messi 10, Rooney 10

                            Tackling: Messi 7, Rooney 8

                            Pace: Messi 10, Rooney 9

                            Total: Messi 54 Rooney 52

It is so close, but the Argentinean shades it. Which makes it all the more sad that his team played the way they did on Wednesday night.

                              That's a terrible article.

"Eye for goal: Messi 10, Rooney 9"

Messi has scored 52 goals this season.

                              Rooney has scored 14.
