Some of these are basically rugby tackles!

I'd agree on Suarez, low centre of gravity... plus he has got a bit of the nutter about him as well. Lets hope he can mach Pele's goals return 669 games 737 goals club. 92 games 77 goals country.
I think the game my dad saw was a Santos exhibition game against Sheff Wed (it certainly wasnt friendly!)

I was just gonna post the Portugal V Brazil from 66 footage

Check the 2 tackles on Pele around 2 mins 30

Xavi + Busquets attempted more passes 222 than the whole Madrid team 210. Barca completed 90% of 657 passes.

Never a dull game with those two

Delighted Barca won, i want them in the final as i think they'd have the best chance of ****ting on the mancs. But some of the anti Madrid/Mourinho stuff on here is just cringeworthily laughable, everton-esque in fact

As for Messi That goal was reminiscent of Maradona in 1986. Just sublime. Best player ever for me, already.

Unbelievable. I believe this was Pele coming back from getting battered in the first game v. Bulgaria. I was just reading that this was also before Subs were allowed, so Pele had to play on injured to the end of the game

However I'd love to see defenders trying to stop any of the greats from the 60's, 70's & 80's

Pele, Cruyff, Eusebio, Revelino, Zico, Best, Van Basten, Maradona etc would literally rape defences

Thats not to denigrate Messi who imo will definitely join that pantheon when he hangs up his boots

Hes defintely the best player of the current generation by a country mile
Messi is far greater than most on that list.

Messi is a joy to watch. The way he bounces off players when challenged is incredible for such a little player. Head and shoulders above anything in the world at the moment, and up there with Maradona and Pele for best ever

I told the sons to drink up as much Messi and Barca as they can, because they're the best club team possibly ever with one of the greatest players of all time playing for them.

That doesn't happen very often. They are history in the making. People will talk of them for generations

That one yes, and to a lesser extent, the 2nd vs England.

Just the speed with which he runs with the ball, the control, the balance, the touch and the finish.

                          Just sublime.

I literally stood up and clapped when he scored that 2nd goal...majestic stuff by the little genius.

You really can't compare different generations. If Messi wasn't the best player ever then he wouldn't be able to dominate the way he do.

Better pitches, different balls, better trained players makes it impossible to compare different generations. All we can say is that you must be much better now to dominate than you had to be 10 years ago.

20 years ago you could play in a top class league carrying a few extra kilos. No chance now. Now every player you are up against will be well trained athletes.

Many players will be as good as Messi in ten years time. If a player want to dominate in the same way Messi do now then he must be better than Messi is now.

I think hes a great player and I'd probably put him in the top 5 I've seen I just think that some of the abuse those players got in those days and you think how would Messi have coped and how good would those players be in todays football were you cant touch a forward

So its a difficult one for me

I'd definitely put Pele & Maradona ahead of him...
