Madrid went out with every intention of spoiling the game. There gameplan involved kicking and stamping the Barca team, who in turn responded by rolling around on the floor with every little bit of contact. Not trying to condone anything but Barca's antics was a response to Reals dirty, ****house tactics.

That's the way I saw it as well. Madrid's tactics were to rough up the Barcelona players. Barcelona then have the option of just getting up and getting on with it or making the most of it. If Madrid employ such unsportsmanly behaviour it's hypocritical of them to expect their opponents not to make the most of it.

If Mourinho doesn't want his players sent off, stop sending them out to kick people, that should minimise the chances. Personally I though the red card was harsh, but that other Madrid players were lucky to still be on the pitch, which would have had a similar effect.

Come on though, he can't be expected to get all decisions correct, with all the cheating and diving going on too it makes his job all the more difficult, the players and managers take more responsibility for the Refs harsh decison than he ever should imo.

I think the way he sort of turned his back on Alves as he went in made it look bad to, from some angles it did look like he'd just totally done him, then obviously Alves played his part too rolling around like his leg had come off.

It was a marginal call but I think a yellow would have been the better call in the context of the game. It wasn't a vicious game, just petty, snarly and very bad-tempered. All the overacting was pathetic.

I think the press conference Mourinho gave is a perfect example of why I'd want him nowhere near our club, classless and petulant as ever when things go against him, to derise Barca and especially pep guardiola acheivements since he took over is just disgraceful.

The game in itself was spoiled partly by negative tactics from Real which although you can understand why they were employed if you were a fan of Real and at the match you'd be massively disappointed that was how you'd set up at home with that amount of talent at your disposal and the diving and remonstrating with the ref which was from both sides (perhaps a little worse from Barca with Pedro springing to mind!) just added to the problems. I've seem the red card again this morning and I can fully understand why it was given, high under the knee following through, if was against LFC you'd scream red, one of ours doing it "it's a yellow".

The right team got the result whatever Mourinho may say or complain about, it would be nice for once to see some humility from him but can't see that ever happening!

To support what I said earlier, Ronaldo have said to ESPN that he does not like to play for a defensive Real team but had to adjust to what the manager wanted, and it showed quite clearly last night that he didn't. The same could be seen with a couple of other players.

as much of a mourinho fan as i am, his comments about guardiola last night were bang out of order. i love to hear jose wind up other teams / managers but there was something "spit the dummy out the pram" about last nights comments.

yes pepe should never have been sent off. yes jose should never have been sent to the stand. maybe pepe would have stopped messi's second goal but even jose cant deny that last night barca fully deserved the victory and after the kicking messi gets off madrid every time he plays them, justice has been served.
