IMO it would have ended 0-0 and Madrid would have played exactly the same way in the Nou Camp and tried to nick an away goal.

Real would have probably won 4 or 5-0. It was all part of the plan! He was gonna bring on Kaka and go all out attack and win the game, though funnily enough the people who say that was his plan are also the ones who say you cant go toe to toe with Barca. Hmmm!Originally posted by red g View PostSo in your esteemed opinion, what would have happened without the sending off........

Don't mean to tag team at all mate and you could say that about several other people on this threadOriginally posted by red g View Postdo you two msn each other before you post? you love tag teaming........whenever there are opinions to be had against the norm, you two always seem to be in harmony backing each other up.
But no intention to do that, just share same opinion on this particular matter.

i will try to make it very very very simple for you
when you play a tactic of conceding possession in the opposition half but then challenging in your own half you are going to have to be very disciplined in your tackling. You will make more tackles and the more you make the more chance you have of mistiming etc and getting carded.
also through in the tactic to disrupt barca you will inevitably have the odd deliberate foul. Again i take the points of those who are more pro JM than me and its part of the game. Again you have the risk of a booking more likely.
next the more yellow cards you have the more reds you are likely to see.
There is also the fact that a ref may let things go then get pissed of and issue card after card for repeated offending etc.
For me the thing that made the most difference (i think it should have been a yellow) is the pressure that JM cranks up in the run up. The ref is always under pressure in these games (barca also pressured and that is wrong too though they tend to pressure on the pitch rather than how JM does it) that powder keg atmosphere again makes it more likely that a red card will happen. JM knows the downside of his tactics he is not stupid.
he also knows if it happens he can call it a scandal and deflect the blame.
be in no doubt though that it is all part of his tactics and what you saw was merely the downside of those tactics.

oh the other thing is you dont need contact, if there is intent and the way he went in you can argue he had intent.Originally posted by danperkins View PostFair points Marsh but we did not see a full strength madrid side for those 90 mins so we cannot say.

i think a yellow would have been fair but can see the argument for both.

You dont necessarily need there to be contact, for it to be considered 'dangerous play' though.Originally posted by danperkins View Post
i was one of those poor unfortunates, and couldn't be arsed retyping it, anyways check this out apologies if this has already been posted:
Well done Dani Alves you cheating cunt, shocking stuff Pepe clearly doesn't make any sort of contact.
P.S. Haha whatever these folks are saying there's definitely a barney going on

really disappointed with any manager that has the second best player on the planet and a supporting cast worth hundreds of millions reduced to trying to nick a goal at home._____________________________________

Myself and Dan wear our hearts on our sleeve, say it like it is, if we agree with a number of issues in the football world then so be it.Originally posted by red g View Postdo you two msn each other before you post? you love tag teaming........whenever there are opinions to be had against the norm, you two always seem to be in harmony backing each other up.
We don't agree on everything tho, for example i'm a Skrtel fan, whereas Dan isn't.

I completely agree but when u look at that and the reaction of Alves, it was just incredible. Also looked at video of Masch,Pedro and the queen of the them Busquets, just disgraceful playacting that decided the tie IMO.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostYou dont necessarily need there to be contact, for it to be considered 'dangerous play' though.
I do not feel Mourinho could have played any other way against this particular Barca side and came out on top, IMO the game was going to plan up until the sending off. I bet Maureen would have been happy with a 0-0 going to the Nou Camp.
