To be fair, Villas-Boas has only had one full season in management. No doubt he did brilliantly last year but its way to early to assume that he will be able to replicate this at a bigger club and in a much more competitive league. Also, with his age I'm not even sure how some of the senior players at Chelsea will take to him unless they can get Hiddink to come in as Director of Football to take some of the pressure off.
Aye, this could be a brilliant appointment but it could also be a total disaster for Chelsea.

If this happens, Chelsea will become exponentially more attractive to loads of top footballers - not that they're struggling to attract players anyway obviously. The only hope will be that Abramovich's boredom gets the better of him again and he starts interfering. Plus Villas Boas will bring a few class players form Porto. **** this.

And 2 minutes after typing that, I've just seen on portuguese TV that he has now accepted the Chelsea job

Not finalised yet though, the Portuguese press today say that Chelsea and Inter have both made offers for Villas-Boas but he hasn't accepted anything yet.
