I was impressed with him the other night, he walloped Barry off the ball quite early in the game and was far more aggressive than he's ever been for us.
He was quick going forward, had more drive and showed more pace.
It was mad because at one point during the game my brother said "Downing is so predictable, he never tries anything unpredicatable like Suarez does, he never tries to take people on and swivel" then literally a few minutes later he did exactly, cut inside from the left, swivelled, took his man left - then right and had a shot or cut the ball across.
It was much more positive wing play from him. He MUST do that more often, be stronger, faster and have the confidence to take people on he's good enough to do it.
His crossing that night was also very good, he got to the by-line on numerous occassions and delivered some excellent balls across the goal.
It's all confidence with Downing.
