I'm very much undecided, i'm of the optimistic opinion that there is a good footballer in there desperate to break out, but his persona restricts this from happening, if that makes sense.

If that shot against the crossbar had of went in against Sunderland I’m convinced we would have seen a much better player last year and he would have did well for us. Should be a clean slate under BR, so if he can put last season behind him and get off to a more fortunate start this year then I think he could be a useful player for us.

In saying that, I won’t lose any sleep if he moves on.

He is a good player for a midtable team with lower expectations, he isn't the right player for us.
It wasn't bad luck, Downing has had poor chance conversion rates through out his career, we need much more quality than he offers and far better game intelligence and aggression.
