I refuse to get excited until I see him posing with that jersey with his **** eating grin.

We better have some players lined up though - our squad is looking incredibly thin.

        agree squad is thin

downing was an 'experienced squad player'

didn't give us enough quality imo - providing we have someone else of better quality coming in then he want be missed,

attacking 3 positions in no particular order

        coutinho
        sturridge
        suarez
        new guy
        aspas
        sterling
        ibe
        borini

we have minimum of 6 players available to fill 3 positions, this becomes 7 if suarez stays/becomes available and would be 8 if we do go and sign a new player.

so if someone new is coming in downing makes perfect sense that he is the one to make way

however the new signing needs to be a good experienced first team signing as imo aspas/sterling/ibe/borini are all 'squaddies' at the moment

Confirmation from Bender will be enough for me

i would say aspas has played enough top class games in spain to be considered experienced enough to be a starter for us.
it might take a little time for him to hit his level and tune in to the lads around him, but i think he will make a significantly better contribution than downing ever did.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

On top of that we may have to keep players that wanted out too, so what were left with could be a very disjointed squad in so many ways unless we recruit well with what's left of the window.

and I think sterling will get quite a few first team games and deserves to. Could be a regular if he takes his chance.

Made up he is leaving - had the ability but never believed in himself, or wanted to get stuck in which was my biggest gripe with him. Too many times he would **** out of tackles and go missing.

Wish him well, but glad he is no longer playing for us, we need a lot better.

The colleague came round to check after a couple of days and found, to his amazement, that the six chimps had immediately typed First Folio editions of Shakespeare, immaculately, without a single typo, a new page for the start of each act, etc. And they'd moved on to the unexpurgated diaries of Samuel Pepys and various other classics.

So the scientist got worried, not that he was losing the bet but that these superchimps posed a threat to the human species.

                        So he shot them.

And as the last one alive lay bleeding to death, he typed a final sentence, perfect English but then it suddenly turned into gobbledygook like thigsdggcb5dxczms.

And the scientist realised that a one in a quintillion chance can happen right at the start of the experiment. They weren't superchimps, it was just random chance they started off perfectly. Had they lived they'd have typed rubbish from that point and for the rest of time.

So maybe Coutinho won't maintain his great stats.

Surely that story is more appropriate to the Gareth Bale thread.....

Dalglish should never have been given the money to spend 20 m. on him.

Carroll,Downing, Konchesky, Paulson, Adam and Cole represent the jurassic decisions that

succeeded in reversing what Rafa had done to us. As we don't have a multi billionaire

I've never been so delighted to see the back of a player, I'm struggling to think of a bigger waste of resources, £20m for this spineless ******* makes carroll appear like value for money.
