I am guessing you have a problem with Kenny!

I reckon you might end up disappointed in your hope that Kenny gets sacked in the summer. Who's accepting mediocrity aswell? Usernames?

I can guarantee you that if we finish outside the top 4 a sizeable proportion of our fans will accept it and say that we are a work in progress instead of looking at the real reasons such as the disastrous Buy British experiment which has cost 80 million pounds for virtually no return.

The fact of the matter is that we finished 2 points behind Spurs last season in 6th place, Spurs spent 8 million pounds last summer on new players while bringing in 27 million from sales, they are currently challenging for the title and are virtually locked on for a top 3 finish.

We on the other hand spent 56 million last summer with a net spend of 35 million are currently sitting in 7th place with one of the worst goal scoring records in the league.

The difference in fortunes between the two clubs this season is because Spurs spent wisely on the right players while we to put it extremely mildly have not.

Maybe, especially given it's likely we'll win a cup aswell. So in your opinion it's sack the manager every single season we dont reach the aim or be accepting of mediocrity?

If the evidence suggests that Kenny is the manager to win us the title then he should stay. I'm sure FSG will carefully look at all the evidence at the end of the season and make a decision which is right for the club.

I don't like his attitude.. He seems to always be having a little moan and waving his hands or pulling a face if he doesn't get the ball. I'd understand if he done something when he got it but I don't know how to take it because he doesn't seem cocky, odd.

And if we do finish between 5th and 7th what progress has been made with the money we have spent? That wouldn't be progress.

Winning a trophy would be progress.

Sorry but no, it wouldn't. It would make the lack of progress more palatable, but failure to qualify for the champions league means we have done no better than last season allegedly poorer team.

Yes it would, everyone has to start somewhere. I'm sure if Podolski signed and got the winner in the Final you'd soon change your opinion.

We spent a **** load, if we don't qualify for the CL, we have not gone forward, it was not like we were miles of the Spurs last season despite Hodgson, so this season, a 5-7th place finish is far from good enough.

I'm not sure that it is a simple as you make out. Spurs got a lot better because Parker has proved to be an excellent foil for Modric in midfield (also sacking off European football has reduced the strain on a sometimes fragile squad).

Progress has can be measured in a variety of ways. At times this season we have shown that we are capable of playing very attractive football and appeared to have a philosophy of play that creates chances. We need to show that more often and to turn chances into goals. If by the end of the season we have an established style of play with a settled spine of the team that could be here for 3 or so seasons then that is progress for me.

Not that the patter would be acceptable long term but I think many people are being pretty impatient.

For me we have to get more points than last season to be counted as progress of any sort

I'd also prefer to finish in a higher position also

However there is a fine line between success and failure and we've been the wrong side of that line not by much but still the wrong side of that line

For me it would be very disconcerting in the event we finished lower than last year

The performance growth of a team is a very nonlinear process. With Spurs you also have to take into account the organic growth of a very good squad who have been playing together for a number of years. Parker and Adebayor helped ignite them this season. However the work done before last year put them in a position where they can be ignited. Even though the league table does not show it last season, they had a lot of latent talent which has been successfully harnessed this season.

In our case, I do agree with you in the sense that the summer spending has not been good. Some of the purchases are not only performing now but I don't see them developing any further in the next two seasons also. However I do think a couple of astute purchases will help us go to two levels higher than current very quickly. We do have a very solid squad now. We need that world class attacking talent to ignite us.

The Adebayor situation will be interesting for Spurs

Did they get him on loan with a view to a permanent deal??

If not I cant see City making that sort of mistake (loaning to a close competitor) again

So Spurs will have to go into the market and get a forward, be interesting to see how that goes for them
