So Terry is going with the 'he started it' argument.

                    Terrific.

There is plenty that gets said on a football pitch; lots of *banter* if you're thick-skinned or *abuse* if it's slightly thinner. But - and this bit is key - Terry replied with racist abuse.

Just because Ferdinand had a go at him about shagging Bridges' missus doesn't give him the green light to bring race in it. But then I'm sure the British justice system won't lose sight of that.

Yup, the irony alarm went off on that one.

so Terrys defence doesnt seem to allow him to get off an FA offence

if he said it which he admits then he should get a ban as large as our man.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I was talking from the perspective of the FA decision. I realise that the Police got in there first due to the complaint though.

Just preparing for the inevitable lack of action from the FA if he is found guilty and the matter is dealt with by the court.

If he's found guilty then I have no doubt that he will face an FA ban. Its the scenario where the court finds him not guilty on the basis of reasonable doubt but the FA do not persue a case on the balance of probabilities that I worry about. Based on the testimony so far, he's easily as guilt as Suarez, and the Suarez incident wouldn't have got far in court.
