AF: "Did you call me a black cunt then?"

JT: "yeah, yeah, a black cunt" *sarcastically*

    JT: "you ****ing knobhead" *angrily*

(Terry followed up the "black cunt" remark with "you ****ing knobhead")

That's my take on it. I'm not going into it anymore because it sounds like I'm defending the cunt when in fact i'm just backing up my point of view that the obscured verbals has given his defence team room to introduce some doubt.

      No, I'm interested.

I just can't imagine how this line is possible.

it would certainly take a hell of a lot of body language to make the comment come across in a sarcastic manner, and would probably need to be very jokey to give a sarcastic impression, which would be even harder to pull off.

It's the "and" seen from another angle that threw terry in the interview
"yeah yeah and yours you black cunt..****ing knobhead" seems a suitably terry like response to being chastises for shagging a teammate's wife.

I think tone would have the biggest impact; contrast saying "I ****ing hate you" in a light-hearted, happy tone, with "I absolutely love you" in an angry, violent tone.

Nobody has come forward and said they heard Terry say those things, so he can claim to have used any tone he likes, thus he doesn't have to "pull it off" in the sense of having to convince those within earshot of his 'true' intent. The police interview references him smirking at the time, and he could just claim it was a sarcastic smirk.

To be honest I think the court case could go either way I think it could be possible for them to decide that the missing bit of footage and lack of sound provide some doubt as to the context which could possibly be enough for him to be cleared due to a lack of evidence.

As for an FA hearing that should be an open and closed case, basically after the Suarez case they said that context isn't considered and that there are certain things you can't say on a football pitch, so from that point of view he should get at least the same ban as Suarez.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Of course he is... and the FA won't touch him as a result.

He's admitted the words I believe ? So the FA should still ban him following on from what happened with Suarez BUT you know they won't

                              Yeah he has.

The FA will just say that it was dealt with in court and use that as an excuse. How Terry gets away with things time and time again is beyond me.
