    cj agrees.

however this powar chap seems to say he cant talk about Dalglish and Suarez because they were guilty. The reason that he isnt talking about Terry seems to be he isnt guilty (no verdict i am guessing)

so i can see the point about Suarez but surely it doesnt hold for Dalglish

He's also dead wrong. There is nothing to prevent him or anyone (including Rio) from talking about the case, or the indeed speculating about the guilt of terry. Certainly not contempt laws.

This case is being heard by magistrates, not by a jury, and magistrates are considered to be beyond influence from the media. To be in contempt you must cause a "substantial risk of serious prejudice or serious impediment to active proceedings'". Not going to happen in a case judged by magistrates.

You should tweet him that. It probably won't shut the cunt up though.

It was an off-duty policeman that saw the incident on TV!

              Here's a copy of Terry's police interview:

              http://www.documentcloud.org/documen...ml#document/p1

The police are contending that Terry shouted: "yes, and yours you black cunt" in response to Ferdinand saying something along the lines of: "You're a cunt, you shagged your mate's missus".

I think the cunt will get away with it as his team will be able to introduce enough reasonable doubt into proceedings.

Plus if (when) Terry gets off, every cunt and his dog will conveniently overlook the difference in standard of proof between "the balance of probability" and "beyond reasonable doubt". ****wits.

                  Where is the doubt though?

The doubt (as I see it) is that there is no audio to accompany the tv images, and the prosecution is relying on a lip reader to decipher what was said, and Terry's mouth is obscured by players on the pitch at some points so the lip reader is not in a position to "read" everything, thus Terry is contending that he said "yeah, yeah, a black cunt" in a sarcastic manner. Plus the various accounts of what happened afterwards in the dressing room boils down to a "he said this, not he said that" affair.

I'm not in the legal profession or anything; just my (lay) opinion, and in the "beyond reasonable doubt" setting this is being played out in, I think Terry will get off with it.

But, there are apparently 2 unbroadcast videos they can also view.

Still not sure how that can be considered to be sarcasm during an argument. If he wasn't black, maybe you can conceive of a conversation when black cunt was sarcastic. But with Terry's account, I just can't.

They went through the videos with Terry in his police interview. i don't recall them having a complete unobstructed view of what was said (and I can't be arsed going through it again).

As I said before, the police contend that Terry said: "yes, and yours you black cunt"; the lip reader sees him say "and" and "you" but not "yours" as he was asked in the police interview about what he said after "and", and his defence team is contesting the "you" to be "a" in a court snippet I read.

Terry says Ferdinand accused him of calling Ferdinand a black cunt, to which Terry 'sarcastically' responded: "yeah, yeah a black cunt", or in other words, responded with: "ha, ha, as if!". So Terry claims he is merely repeating the accusation in a sarcastic manner to deride it (the accusation). Why he didn't just say: "No I ****ing never!", is open to debate.

Again, I struggle to equate 'yeah yeah as if' with 'yeah yeah a black cunt'. Even said in a dismissive way, it reinforces rather than anything else.
