Kick it Out beginning to realise that the FA aren't really tough on racism. They're only tough on foreigners they don't like. Pricks

FA confirm they are to introduce minimum 5 match ban for racist behaviour by players from next season. Rises to 10 games for second offence

Minimum 5 games. Why not just follow UEFA and introduce a standard 10 game ban for racist language? I suspect the 'minimum' will be used by them again to impose differening penalities according to the player in question, carrying on their blatant inconsistencies in the punishment they dish out

Why is it that 6 months or so ago a four game ban was sufficient for John Terry, while now a five game minimum ban is to be introduced, what has changed since? It doesn't seem to make sense
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wonder if this will do more harm than good.

Will players try to take advantage and get others suspended as they do when feigning injury?

Will the FA define clearly what constitutes ‘racist behaviour’ as I assume it won’t be restricted to skin colour. How far will this be taken by players?

Will there be equal punishment for false accusation like with Mikel earlier in the season?

I can see it getting messy…

Edit: not that I have any better suggestions for an issue that has to be resolved.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Uefa wants member associations to adopt "same or similar" sanctions for racism. English FA adopted five-match minimum ban last week

Footballer John Terry's father charged with racist attack in London

Chelsea footballer John Terry’s father was charged today with carrying out a racist attack on a man after a fracas in the City of London.

Ted Terry, 59, was charged was racially aggravated assault on Tuesday afternoon after he was arrested earlier this year following the incident on Fenchurch Street in London’s Square Mile.

Mr Terry, of Lennox Close in Essex, was also charged with racially aggravated fear of violence when he answered bail at Bishopsgate Police Station.

Two other men, Tudor Musteata, 47, of Tarves Way in London, and Stephen Niland, 36, of Quarels Park Road in Romford, were also charged following the scuffle at 8pm on March 22.

Both men face one allegation that they caused a ‘fear of violence’ that was racially aggravated.

City of London Police, which is investigating the alleged offences, refused to give more details about what is claimed to have taken place, the Daily Mail reported.

A spokesman said: “As charges have now been brought we are unable to comment further on the nature of the incident.”

All three men, who were released on bail, will appear at City of London Magistrates' Court on July 23.

The Terry family has had previous run-ins with the law, with former England captain John Terry cleared of racially abusing fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand last year.

The defender had denied making the comments to the Queens Park Rangers player during a match at Loftus Road the previous year.

The verdict came after the footballer was stripped of the national captaincy and England manager Fabio Capello resigned in protest.

John Terry had previously been arrested following a fight at a nightclub in 2002, but was later cleared of four charges, including affray and wounding with intent.

John Terry’s mother Sue, 55, and mother-in-law Sue Poole, 59, were cautioned for shoplifting from Tesco and Marks & Spencer in 2009.

Ted Terry also appeared in court in 2010 to face charges of dealing cocaine in a bar near his home in Essex the previous year.
