Well yes if you don't include the fact that they have front men who are getting goals on a regular basis along with a number of midfielders who have been chipping in with goals all season.

The issues with their defenders has also been made seem worse than it is. After half a season they have only conceded 20 goals in the league. To put that into some sort of context, Man City and Chelsea have both conceded 19 league goals to date.

They have also only lost 3 games to date this season whereas Chelsea and Man city are each only one game better than them on that front.


Much as I wish they were not, they look to be doing exactly what we were doing last season. Grinding out results more often than not in the first half of the season and putting themselves in a good position to take advantage of their new players gelling further as the second half of the season kicks in.


I'm sure when we were getting one nil wins early doors last season many non LFC fans were going on about us being jammy and how we would get found out as the season went on. Those comments probably got shouted a bit louder when we lost to the likes of Southampton and Hull and then lost back to back games to Chelsea and City by the half way point last season.

Tend to agree with this. If we had him he would be getting slaughtered for not being a commanding keeper and he is no better on crosses and the like than Mignolet.

He has a bigger reputation than our keeper, but would not see him as an upgrade.

Fully agree. He looked good at his last club due to all the possesion type football they played. Thinking on, that makes the Mig look even worse....

We were told the Valdes deal was off cos he wanted guarantees he would play. That's clearly bollix since he's agreed to sit on their bench so he obviously wanted a Reina type wage which we couldn't/wouldn't pay for a player with a lot to prove on the fitness front.
