- wins the next 10 games
- given a 3.5 year contract

Why didn’t they do it before the international break?

The replacement they want isn't available until the summer? I think they must have had someone in mind and the next best option was to keep Solskjaer until the season. With the latest result that became untenable, it maybe that Carrick or whoever is in charge for the rest of the season, but I don't see him getting the job beyond that. Whether they can bring in someone external short term on convince their long term target to come now are the main questions

He was done after the city game if not before. They’d have had two weeks to prepare with an interim before the game yesterday and European game tomorrow. The delay was a very poor decision.
