You would think that given he can't cut it at the top end or the bottom end of the PL his next job has to be further down the football ladder, but he's English and English/British managers are over hyped, so who knowsThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wonder if this is an English manager thing, because Allardyce's comments earlier this week about no one being above him, and the supreme confidence of the likes of Hodgson. I wonder if years of hearing that the PL is the best league in the world they start believing because they once managed there it makes them the best in the world.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI think he is genuinely deluded. Literally. Doesn’t seem to cross his mind that the problem might be that he is a terrible manager.
He’s not getting another decent job any time soon.
Lampard is at best unproven as a manager, at worse a proven failureThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

His ego would not allow him to take a lower league job (i know he did Derby, but at the time they were just as deluded); he wouldn't have dreamed of taking the Burnley job or say one at a Norwich/Blackburn.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostYou would think that given he can't cut it at the top end or the bottom end of the PL his next job has to be further down the football ladder, but he's English and English/British managers are over hyped, so who knows

Would have been better off getting Grant or Hiddink in ffs. Safe pair of hands to steady the ship before a permanent manager in June.

I struggle to see how they can be out in the market this Summer without moving a shed load of players on, I mean the current first team squad is massively oversubscribed and that's without the FFP issues they must be about to have.
Caveat - I am sure they'll be out looking to recruit like mad regardless of FFP and the ridiculous squad they've already got.

They did their mad spending before the new FFP rules come in this summer though. So their mad splurge is spread over more years than what signing from this summer onwards can be.
The big spending already done is not affected by the new rules so they will have some wriggle room to go again this summer.
Of course they will be gambling on at least 50% of the signings bought under the old rules working out along with a good % of who they buy under the new rules otherwise they will hit a point in the coming years where they are carrying too many wages too meet the cut off for the % your wages can be vs turnover.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
