For me we have already made our most important signing in Rodgers ... the rest is a bonus ... I am looking forward to him getting the best out of players like Henderson, Sterling, Suso, Flanno, Shelvey ect .... I would really be made up if Suso broke into the senior team this year and Sterling was a regular fixture at least on the bench ... for me he looks good enough and readyAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. I dont think its about us being bigger. I just think he has a sense of loyalty to them. He is only 22, so still serving his apprenticeship really. If he does go there it would suit him just as much as coming here I guess.Originally posted by Rich View PostI cannot believe we're "battling" with Reading
If he can't see that LFC is a bigger and better club than Reading then maybe he isn't the player we need. You need balls and bottle to succeed at Anfield.
He has arguably 3 years until he is hitting his peak, so he can take his time and make the right move for him.*Except Michael, who died.

Called me old fashioned, but I'm not too bothered about him now.
If he'd wanted to come play for us, he'd have jumped at the chance, and I want players who want to play for the club, end of.
As I said top of the post, call me old fashioned.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
That is true - i know for a fact that he would jump on to old trafford, give the chance, for alot less than what Tottenham is offering him.
Like i said, he is excited by Liverpool (as excited as a none fan can be) and is ours if we WANT him.
He is a really really promissing player and i honestly belive we will be sorry if we dont take this chance and get him. This will be our only chance.
He is due back to UK today.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

If everything is sorted since Brendan became manager what would make him or anyone think we don't want him? Is this one of those the more you pay me the more you want me type of things? i know you said that he isn't the type but there is a subtle difference in this post to the ones you posted a few days back where you were certain he was signing now its" if we want him" not sure what it all means tbh.

I think it means we should be at least closer to the wages spurs are offering. Which to be fair, is not unreasonable. Spurs are obviously showing they want him more than we do by putting their money where their mouth is.

Or the situation has changed since Spurs have turned up with a bigger offer.

Think they answer your question quite well. It was nailed on, but the contract wasnt laid down until the 21st when he officially meet with Liverpool´s rep (same day as ppl from Spurs). Up until then he was on his hollyday with his girlfriend in the US.
As to "nailed on since Brendan left Swansea". I do know for a fact that they have remained in touch since then (Gylfi confirmed it in the icelandic media, but just that he had contact him to congratulate him etc, ofc). Brendan said straight away that he would like him to follow him to LFC, hence Gylfi blew off the Swansea move straight away. Brendan saying that he would not go after him until he had talked to Swansea was not correct, he just want to do (well, look like he is doing) his old club right.
He has Hoffenheim´s permission to speak to who ever he wants to, so that is not "tapping up". Fee is fixed more or less (Swansea´s fee + the "discount they got", which is the loan payment up front).
Im not backing down with what i said earlier, just trying to explain what has changed. I still think this "saga" isnt over and he will be wearing a Warrior kit next season. We will find out soon enough.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
