A young guy, so judging at this early stage wouldn't be particularly fair. Unfortunately, our lack of options up top will expose him to far more pressure than is ideal.

Thus far he looks hard working with a good attitude, but fairly limited from a technical standpoint.

I'd like to see him get a run of games through the middle, as he really doesn't seem suited to a wide role.

    It's early days for Fabio.

        Same here.

Personally I also don't think he is well suited to play at either flank in PL.

He has a good positional sense but imo it will take some time before we see any real contribution coming from him.

Yep, he works his socks off, always tracks back and unselfishly creates lots of space for other players which is why the likes of Kuyt and Borini are often appreciated far more by their team mates than by the fans.

Think if Borini was in the centre and then Sterling left and Suarez on the right we would see more from Borini and hopefully some goals

He needs to play down the centre. He wasn't prolific before we signed him so we can't expect him to prolific for us given his age and the fact he is playing wide right.

I certainly think through the middle his movement would create spaces for Suarez and Sterling to exploit.

He has been unlucky so far. I can't remember which match it was (Hearts away maybe) but he was twice flagged offside when he had actually timed his run to perfection and should have been clean through on goal. Otherwise, he hasn't missed that many sitters and he hasn't had the best of service. If we can persuade Suarez to pass to him in the box we might see some goals from him.

Yeah its strange that he's playing wide considering he is best poaching in the box. He should play central with Suarez left and Sterling on the right

Another one here in the "play him through the middle" club

If we had a less mobile forward playing alongside him (ie Carroll say), then I could understand it, however Suarez game is fine for coming from wide, dropping off etc so I just don't understand their respective roles at the moment.

I know its not entirely fair to compare them, but I wonder how a young Fowler when he just broke into the first team would have performed out wide in a front 3?

We all seem to be particularity quick to judge players in this day and age, especially our own when really they could do with our full support.

For instance we all know Joe Allen is a good player and we've taken to him in a positive way but as soon as we have someone who doesn't hit the ground running we see them as being poor and see it as a negative.

Annoys me a bit really, we must give more time and support for the guys we sign they could turn out to be real stars for us no one knows.

If you read most of the comments then most people have refrained from making judgements until they have seen him more. I think that we all make initial judgements about his current ability but of course Borini could go on to be world class for all we know. I think he has the work ethic anyway.

First impressions isn't it. Nothing wrong with giving a first impression. It doesn't mean we have condemned him as a failure already. Chill out Slinky you drama Queen

Far too early to say at the moment.

But I'll give my judgement after watching him five or six times.

For me, he hasn't quite done enough to start every week but we don't have a lot of options. The potential is there, but like everyone says, he'd be better playing through the middle.

                              He's a bit one-footed too.

I think he'll come good, but he needs to score that first league goal, he needs a chance through the middle and I'd rather see him come on as an impact sub for the time being.

Don't think anyone has had their final judgement on Borini at all mate and people are 100% supporting him. There is nothing wrong with people just giving their impression on how he has done so far

Seems to me that everyone is saying exactly the same things too, about where he is being played at the moment. Hopefully Rogers gives him a shot centrally at some point so we can see what he's all about. Agree with Lee too, definitely see him more as an impact sub as moment.
