I would rather see Shelvey in that position

The only reason I say Gerrard is because he is not exactly setting the world alight in midfield at the moment. A position change could revitalise his form.

Shelvey is only young and still improving, And excelling in his role....While Shelvey might do well there it would be a gamble and think he is best served in the middle at the moment.

Gerrard needs something to spark him, Bar the odd game he has been terrible this season

You guys must have been reading the Metro

Gerrard already has 100 goals for the club and could be asked to play in an advanced role against West Ham tonight alongside Robbie Keane as Fernando Torres is injured.

But Benitez believes the 28-year-old could one day play in the front-line permanently.
'Stevie is a great finisher and can score great goals, so maybe he can play as a striker,' said Benitez.
'When he is older and does not have the same pace, he will still have the accuracy and he can still be a great finisher.
'He's already one of the big names but I still think he can improve.
'From 26 to 29 is the best age for a player and Steven always wants to learn.'

****ing hell. Read the first line of the article where it mentioned Torres & Keane and it confused the **** out of us.

Don’t think that was the exact article I read but the sentiment is pretty much the same, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he said it a few times.

Anyone think of an examples of midfielders paving a successful career as a CF later in their careers? Obviously there are plenty who finished at CB.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                      Very good question actually Reet.

I can't think of any at all. Not one.

In the system Rodgers wants to play Carroll would be like the fish out of water.

He was asked during today presser if he will bring Andy back in January and initially he said he wasn't planning but that he will assess it.

Personally I don't think he will.

Any news on his recovery? When's he due back? Feb?
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
