Borini doing a hell of a lot of running off the ball. More than most, and creating space for Suarez if I remember. We could really do with him back. When he does, and we sign the two attacking players. Our squad and first team look a whole lot different.

Also, as has been said. 5 games is nothing. Especially as he has never played in the prem before.

As good as a new signing, didn't really have enough time to prove anything to anyone either way imo, or intergrate his style and strengths into how his team mates play.

If we sign a couple of forward players in January, Borini will slot right in. He'll be coming of the bench and starting the odd game here & there. That was what he was doing at Roma and it will allow him to develop nicely.

Too much too soon for our young players this season. Suso, Sterling & Borini just don't have that composure and ability needed to play on a regular basis at the top level. It will come. All three have bags of ability.

The thing is that we didn't buy him to be a squad option but to be a first team striker and you would expect that he is given little more time to settle in.

Not sure that playing him occasionally is the best way to get the most out of him.

I'm not sure his proper role is strictly wide. He certainly wasn't playing there when we played against Gomel - his movement was superb and he scored a poacher's goal. That lineup was supposedly close to what Rodgers was planning for LFC - I know it was only Gomel, but he looked fantastic when we were playing players where we should be playing them.

And it is not. He said himself that he is most effective when he is in the middle

i don't agree. I think he was supposed to be a youngish third choice striker to be eased in over the year with a first teamed being planned with the funds from offloading Carroll. The last but just didn't happen.

I would find it very hard to believe that he would be willing to leave Roma where he was a first choice striker and jeopardize his chances of becoming more regular with Italy NT by agreeing to be a third choice striker with L4.

I don't agree he was first choice. Started about 18 games and they bought Destro in the summer. Anyway, he wasn't a reserve team purchase, that much is clear, and he needs to start scoring asap. Again, if the midfield starts to function properly he should do.

I think he was brought to play a similar sort of squad role as Hernandez does at Utd. Not always a starter, but when called upon is reliable.
