Yeah I guess so. Do you really think Arsenal fans would swap being in the CL for either of the domestic cups? Most fans of teams like Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle that I know just want 4th. It's like the new 1st...Originally posted by Vermilion View PostNot necessarily to the fans it doesn't if they see their club as having next to no chance of winning it, because the manager/club don't buy the players with the cash that being in the tournament earns the club, what's the point, the owners/club gets richer but the team wins naff all ?
I bet many Arsenal fans would swap a barren 7yrs for one or two Carling Cup final wins or an fa cup.

Sign on! Arsenal boss issues Walcott with a contract warning
Gunners could be tempted to sell the England winger in January if he doesn't pen new deal - with City and Liverpool waiting in the wings
Arsene Wenger has delivered a contract warning to Theo Walcott.
Wenger urged Arsenal's fans to support Walcott but warned the stand-off could affect his team selection if contract negotiations drag on for the rest of the season.
Walcott has not started the last three games and got a mixed reception from the supporters when he came on against Southampton on Saturday because he has yet to sign a £75,000-a-week contract offer.
England winger Walcott, 23, who is in the final year of his contract, is in the squad for Tuesday's Champions League opener at Montpellier, but Wenger wants him to commit himself before it is too late.
Arsenal boss Wenger said: "At the moment I still hope to extend his contract so at the moment, it doesn't affect me. Of course at some stage - if, in April, if it's not done - you can think it will be difficult to do.
"I think you want your players to be supported no matter what kind if contractual situation they are in. I hope it will not affect him and that it will not affect our fans.
"He has gone through, at 23 years of age, a lot, Theo, you know. A lot of positives, a lot of negatives and he's level-headed. We are lucky: I don't know what they do at Southampton but they bring players out, Chamberlain and him, with their feet on the ground."
Liverpool and Manchester City are both keen on Walcott and Arsenal could be tempted to sell in January rather than risk losing him on a Bosman-style free transfer at the end of the season.
Italian champions Juventus are also keen to sign Walcott on the cheap in January.
But Wenger and the Arsenal board decided not to sell in August as Walcott gave a clear indication that he wants to stay even though his advisers are still yet to agree a new deal.
Arsenal have offered him a new deal worth £75,000-a-week but have made it clear they will not go any higher and that could mean negotiations drag on with no quick conclusion in sight.
Wenger will have to play Vito Mannone in goal because Wojciech Szczesny suffered an ankle injury during the warm-up against Southampton on Saturday. Szczesny still played and dropped a clanger but did not travel and rookie James Shea will be on the bench.
Wenger is boosted by the return of fit-again midfielder Abou Diaby while Olivier Giroud is likely to start against his former club Montpellier.
