Errm, the Pique and Fabregas comparisons are quite frankly embarassing. Both those players went abroad to big clubs playing CL football and returned better players after several years. We let Ince go to Blackpool and are bringing him back in little over a year. Spot the difference, I dare you."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

It isn't a perfect analogy but I think the point that just buying a player back isn't, of itself, anything to worry about. The point is whether the time away has improved them to the point where they would now benefit the first team.
You could argue that letting obviously exceptional talents like Fabragas and Pique get away in the first place was a much bigger mistake than us letting Ince try his hand in the Championship."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

That is infact the exact same situation that Ince was in when he signed for Blackpool.Born in Barcelona, Catalonia,[1] Piqué started his career in FC Barcelona's youth teams as a defensive midfielder, but before he signed his first professional contract with the club, he decided to join Manchester United. The Premier League side did not pay a fee for Piqué as he was too young to have a professional contract.*Except Michael, who died.

Blackpool > Man UtdOriginally posted by Alex View PostPique only played a handful of games at Utd. 12 to be exact. So I think it is a pretty close comparison. Different countries I grant you. But its hardly embarrassing."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

Big difference, Pique went abroad to a 'massive' club whereas Ince moved up the road to Blackpool to play at a far inferior level.Originally posted by Alex View PostNo, Im not on about stature of the clubs. He left to play football, then was brought back. How is that different?"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
