I pretty much said all that apart from the 'I don't agree' bit straight after.Originally posted by Assassin View PostI don't agree. I thought he was very assured and committed in his challenges. I don't recall him giving away too much free kick wise.
He has the will to win

He reminds me very much of William Gallas when he first moved to Spurs. A player who people saw as on the decline, but proved to be invaluable in terms of being a commanding influence on the defence.

Yes you did, but your opening sentence was "He's a bit rash in challenges" and I definately do not agreeOriginally posted by Phoenix07 View PostI pretty much said all that apart from the 'I don't agree' bit straight after.

I sort of agree.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostHe's a bit rash in his challenges, but his desire to win the ball and commit himself are signs of a dominant, commanding centre-back.
What I try to remember is that this is his first string of games as a starter in a competitive environment for a while. At Manchester City during last season, he was used as a squad player, but with us, he's cemented his place, ensuring stability and a consistent run of games to improve his playing ability even further.
I can't wait to see what he'll be like a month from now.
He's been really good so far - and I was mocked a few weeks ago for calling him one of the signings of the season - but today he was a bit flappy. Arms all over the place in our area.
Great business though.
Peeping Kolo.

Originally posted by Daffy Duck View PostHe was really good, but he made a few jumps in our box that were going absolutely nowhere, don't know what that was about. Anyway, very pleased with this signing.
made a few random jumps alright... although was trying to cover for Agger for most of the game.
Looks good signing thus far... be interesting to see how he gets on against RVP... bit worried about Agger to be honest, needs to cut out these silly mistakes that he has carried through from last season.
