So, unfortunately, if you look at a club like Dortmund it's more likely players will be saying who are Liverpool.
    unfortunately true.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

No one is going to say who are Liverpool. What they are going to ask is can they progress and can they win things.

We may not have won the league but we've still a history of winning trophies. And I think the likes of Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Arbeloa and others will say they progressed. Suarez too.

If players come to Liverpool they come to a global club who are on TV all over the world and in the limelight.
      Forwards.......

And a lot of 'supporters' seem to have forgotten that. If he doesn't want to join us, the his loss.

I think that the truth is somewhere between the two, I think that a lot of people across Europe still expect us to be in the Champions League, and when they see/realise that we aren't just assume that we have had a bad season. In effect I think the perception of our level (outside the UK) is trailing behind where we really are, I think that if we can get back in the Champions League soon there will have been no/very little harm done, but if we are out of the CL for a few more years it will become more of a problem in attracting players.

Financial clout is also important, if all the best players in the world wanted to play for us it would mean very little if we weren't able to find funds to buy them and pay their wages.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No they aren't going to say who are Liverpool but they will say where did they finish in the league the past few years & how long since they were in the CL. We haven't won anything on note for way too long for us to be a big attraction. Yeah we've got history but not recent history & that's what matters to attract players now. Sad but true IMO.

They're more likely to look at the potential going forwards than the recent past, if they see something is being built to get back to challenging then there is no reason to think they wouldn't be interested.

I'm sure going out at the group stages of the CL is a massive draw card...

Yeah and stability with managers also would be a consideration.

So what do they see if they look at Rodgers and what he done so far?

The answer is IMO that they don't know if he would improve them or not. No one can know that. He don't have a long enough track record yet.

If they look at Klopp then they see a manager with a fantastic record getting the best out the players. He is the safest option.

Signing for us is a gamble. Signing for Dortmund isn't.

Oh look, Arn in blaming Rodgers shocker, surprised there is no attack on FSG or Ayre thrown in there.

All transfer are a gamble Arn, moving to Dortmund is as much of a gamble as moving to us would be, not matter what you say regarding managers.

Arnold, Maybe some players want to play in England over Germany for the passion and intensity that the Bundaspiga lacks

They'd see a side in a rebuild mould playing exciting attacking football and looking to develop back into a top side, I believe we scored more goals last season than we've done in a very long time.

They'd see 4 players already brought into the club this summer that fit into the ethos of the club which gives the impression of a side looking to kick on.

It also gives the impression that the club is being backed by the owners to get things right which hasn't been the case for a number of years either.

Did I blame Rodgers. No I didn't. I said that he is a young manager without a long enough track record.

                              That isn't blaming him FFS

I'm not even allowed to call Rodgers a young manager anymore. That is just crazy. If I do that then I blame him.

Can someone please add five years to Rodgers age please
