Give Rodgers a couple of years and then we will know if he is a top class manager or not. I don't think that you can say that he is a hit or miss after only one season at a top club. It looks promising but it is to early to know if is a hit or miss yet.
We already know that Klopp is a top class manager but a few years ago nobody could know that. Dortmund gambled in the same way we did.
Rodgers is in the same situation that Klopp was a few years ago. A young manager with a lot of potential.Stop the cyberhate

Yeah. I'm more relaxed this time round I must admit. We don't seem to have that frantic, panicked edge to us that we seemed to acquire post Rafa. Our dealings look reasoned, rational and we appear to have lost that edge of soft-touch-ability that had creeped in. Nice to see us doing things on our terms.Originally posted by Nigey View PostBe patient, Arn. Things will fall into place, in time.
Are you 80 and running out of time or what?
Next year we'll have progressed a little more and the year after that more again. Good times are coming back again!A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

No I don't and that is fact, no it is more than a fact, it a fact fact.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostIt is because you use it as a stick to beat him with (that and him not being Rafa).
Can you say after only one season that Rodgers will be a top class manager in a couple of years time?
Oh, and can you and everyone stop to mention Rafa in almost every post. If I talk about him then I do that. If I don't then I don't.
I believe that Rodgers will be a top class manager in say four of five years time but IMO he isn't that yet. That isn't blaming him.Stop the cyberhate

Yes, you shouldOriginally posted by Arn View PostGive Rodgers a couple of years and then we will know if he is a top class manager or not.
The thing is Arn, is that a manager with a plan doesn't need to buy the most expensive player, he needs to buy the right player. Mkhitaryan was his first choice it seems but he'll have a list of others that will do the job. Be patient, you almost right seasons off before they've even begun

I'm kinda with Arn on this one.Originally posted by Arn View PostSo what do they see if they look at Rodgers and what he done so far?
The answer is IMO that they don't know if he would improve them or not. No one can know that. He don't have a long enough track record yet.
If they look at Klopp then they see a manager with a fantastic record getting the best out the players. He is the safest option.
Signing for us is a gamble. Signing for Dortmund isn't.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Arn, mate, get yourself over to Blighty forthwith and I will treat you to a slap up meal and some top quality rum. It's the very least you deserve. You are brilliant value and for that alone I doth my cap in your general direction. Come on indulge me with your presence.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I personally cant see us getting back into the top 4 until financial fair play (if it is enforced properly) kicks in and we have a 60,000 stadium so were talking 3 years. You've got to think along the lines of what can get us above Man U, Man City, Chelsea's and Arsenal in terms of financial ability and we are considerably behind all 3 and sadly that's what it comes down to, who has the money.
It's sad that a club like ours can't attract top stars but its reality in today's market.

To answer many questions. Liverpool happy to meet buy-out in Mkhitaryan contract (no lack of financial ambition) but unable to get to player

Dortmund deal not done yet so suppose you could say where there's life there's hope - but those involved seem reluctant to talk to Liverpool

I don't think that the problem is an inability to attract players, or a lack of funds. We have suffered in recent years because of the poor use of the funds we have had available £35m on Carroll, £20m on Downing etcThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

LFC transfers: quiet week. Club's big frustration with Mkhitaryan is despite meeting buyout they never got opportunity to talk to the player
Jonathan Northcroft @JNorthcroft 51m
No info on LFC alternatives to Mkhitaryan. Personally, puzzled haven't moved harder for Aldeweireld. Leadership, flexibility and quality
Jonathan Northcroft @JNorthcroft 49m
For those asking: no, Mkhitaryan to Dortmund not completed yet.
Jonathan Northcroft @JNorthcroft 39m
@bestodds_LFC There's a small glimmer but reluctance of player (or player's agent) to speak to LFC probably a sign to move on
