From a personal point of view if we signed Willian I couldn't care less who Spurs sign as a front 3 of Suarez, Sturridge & Willian with Coutinho behind would be up there with some of the best in Europe, let other teams worry about us for a change

To be fair all iv seen of him is youtube clips, but this tweet is exactly my thoughts...
@BrazilStats: Willian is very VERY good. If you ask any football pundit he'll say same. BR is a smart manager. To spend £30M on him, knows his quality.

I trust BR in the transfer market 100%.

@Liam_Ed030 Talks are ongoing. #LFC willing to pay up to £30m and they think Anzhi will sell for that. Then it comes down to the player.

Wonder if Coutinho & Lucas being with us might work in our favour here. Willian's not been getting much of a look in for the national side, playing alongside 2 others who are there or there abouts can only help his profile at home in the run up to their World Cup. Might actually count more in this specific case than Europe or living in London. Or maybe not, but it is possible.

Ha. HAHAHAHAHA. ****ing hell, where does he think these lot are all going to play? Spurs planning on going with a 1-8-1 formation next year?

Well Spurs have Sandro and Paulinho though, plus London. It looks like they are after at least one creative attacker, frustrating that when we take one step forward, they take two.

Hopefully a lesson to you to give people a bit of time, or at least not write them off before theyve even kicked a ball like Aspas or the **** Jermain Defoe Daniel Sturridge.

Spurs were after Downing when we signed him, they could just as easily make the same case.. Oh and Carroll too.
If only they'd beaten us to those signings
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

And lets not forget their deadline day failure to land Charlie Adam. Happy days.

                    James Pearce ECHO

Both owners and the manager insist the Reds’ inactivity in the transfer market isn’t down to a lack of funds. The money is there but spending it on what they want has been the problem when you can’t offer Champions League football.

They bid £20million plus for both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa and landed neither of them.

Mkhitaryan fluttered his eyelashes in Liverpool’s direction and then headed for Borussia Dortmund, while Costa used the Reds’ interest to get himself a pay rise and a new contract out of Atletico Madrid.

Now the focus has turned to Anzhi Makhachkala winger Willian with the Reds willing to pay up to £30million to make the deal happen.

The Russians are keen to sell and the Brazil international has spoken publicly about his hope that the Reds will make him an offer.

Yet with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham also showing an interest, there are no guarantees his head won’t be turned by a rival bid.

Liverpool are in good shape but the jigsaw still isn’t complete. Only when the transfer window shuts on September 2 will we know if Rodgers’ side are fully equipped to achieve Henry’s stated ambition.

@Waseem__B I am told tomorrow is 'D-day when it comes to #LFC interest in Willian. We shall see.

Have no idea what he means by this.

With Liverpool failing in their attempts to land Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa there attention has turned to the Brazilian maestro Willian of Anzhi.

The Russian club is having a bit of a fire sale at the moment and this alerted LFC to the possibility of signing attacking midfielder.

What I can reveal is that LFC have been in discussions today with Anzhi with Billy Hogan believed to be taking the lead in the talks

Tottenham are also believed to hold an interest LFC know they had to act fast
I am led to believe that Liverpool have offered 28m plus 5m in add ons ( this would kick in if LFC qualified for Champions league in the next two seasons )

Anzhi have now given Liverpool exclusivity to talk to the player with the club willing to offer him a five year deal worth 100k per week plus bonuses, they hope to have the deal wrapped up by Monday

Brendan Rodgers is also very keen to add a centre back to his ranks with Sakho, Chygrynskiy and Inigo Martinez all an option.
Who is this Billy Hogan fella?

It will be an amazing window if we get Willian and Martinez. Martinez is a huge talent.
