Reports were that Chelsea were pissed off that he spoke with city, and that he'd recently tried to use interest from other clubs to get an improved contract with Chelsea. They agreed an exit agreement with him, so he wasn't sacked, but didn't necessarily want to leave now either.

Management is a weird lot....get sacked, but get a bucketload of cash for it, and then walk into a new job almost straightway, should you choose. No wonder some managers go out to make their position untenable at the earliest opportunity.

He basically asked for this in his press conference yesterday

He was the worst of all of their managers since fergie imo. Total fraud. He was suggesting that they weren't backing him in the transfer market when they spunked another 200million plus in the summer. Despite having no European football. The lack of European football should have helped him big time over the last few months but they have looked rubbish. Sesko has left them down too though imo.

Will be interesting to see who they get now. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Ole went back there on an interim basis again.
