Found some interesting stats on the BBC website earlier.

In the last three years and two managers (McLeish and Lambert), Villa's average win ration is something like 21% (18% and 24% respectively).

Appalling. How they've managed to survive the drop with such a low win ratio shows how much **** we've had in the league over the last few years.

I've been of the opinion for a few years that we could have a year of 6 teams going down and it would adversely affect the quality of the league.

There is habitual crap at the bottom of the league that needs to be flushed

That's true of any league. But the weaker teams in the premier league are far less **** than in other major leagues.

Relegating 6 teams every season would have quite a destabilising effect. Hard to maintain the league's brand overseas with that amount of turnover which, **** as that sounds, is what currently stokes the fire of the 'EPL'. And there wouldn't be half the inward investment either.

When you think that all those teams, in fact every team in the Premiership will be in the Rich List top 30 Clubs.

Throwing good money after bad, that's football today.

Laughed when I saw it mentioned in the Irish Indo, but given Keane's record of somehow managing to land roles despite being a shyte manager, not to mention a headcase, I would not be surprised to see it happen.

Just as I would not be surprised to see him last about six months there if he did get the job and then read more tales about him hiding in bushes outside a player's house.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Oh not every season. Just as a one-off big flush of the otherwise unflushable turds that fester at the bottom of the Premier League gene pool year in year out.

                              Why employ him? Totally unproven.

Surely there were better options available?
