The one thing that puts me off the game more than anything else is cheating, anything from feigning injury, the "(h)e's made the most of that" where there's hardly a foul or the Ashley Young leave-leg-dangling-so-it catches-the-defender where the attacker makes contact with the defender rather than vice versa.

Video ref, retrospective action, regardless of whether the match ref has seen it or not, with bans of 3 matches plus.

What would happen if there was no offside rule? Why do we have the rule in the first place? What is it supposed to prevent? Doesn't sound like getting rid of it would ruin the game.

I just don't think you should be allowed to block/shield the ball unless its under your control or has been under your control.

E.g. Attacking player takes a bad touch and the ball is running out of play slowly, therefore the defender blocks the attacking player, thus shielding the ball out of play.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought this thread might be about the potential introduction of a 'B team' or reserve team football getting a place in the lower leagues.

Essential rule change imo. Seen defenders go 5 yards away from the ball to block an attacker. Its farcical

Jose Enrique does not like this idea.

I personally think thatll be a good idea, but it obviously dilutes the importance of the lower leagues for the smaller sides.

10 minute sin bins. Would work wonders I reckon.

Only the captain allowed to talk to the ref.

                    Video referees
                    These.

All this media talk of ruining the flow of play, well time wasting, surrounding the ref and diving all the time do that already.

Remove minimum 30 minutes of extra-time, and bring back the golden goal.

It's so boring now, I dread it every time a knock-out game ends up in a draw.

I think it would stop time wasting and cynical fouls. People who get a yellow just to break an attack up would think twice.

Imagine if the clock stop rule was introduced for our game against Chelsea. We'd still be playing now!

Replace penalties with runs from the half way line and the 'keeper to beat.

Game finishing when you are 3 nil up with 12 mins to go. Should be brought in
