Controversially, I have never liked the offside rule would like to see it go - it would spread the games out a lot and lead to more goals and a more exciting games (never going to happen though)

Mike the ref up - good idea, we need to start respecting the ref. The obvious lack of respect is impacting grass roots and junior football.

    Video refs, goal line technology.

Game finishes when the ball goes out of play. Time of game based on time the ball is in play.

This one's a little out there but I'd like to see the league decided purely on goal difference. Forget points. Points are ****.

If you look at the league table for each season it is normally the team with the best goal difference that wins it. It would lead to a more attacking spectacle anyway

Get rid of "interpretations" of the rules. Apply them literally.
If you're offside, you're offside, regardless of whether you're "active" or in the "2nd phase of play". Also, if the ball touches your had when you're in the penalty area, it's a penalty whether your meant it or not!

As for new rules, I'd like to see the officials referee a game retrospectively via video & put any wrong decisions right. This may not help you during the game, but players geting bans / cards invoked / revoked may help modify their behaviour & cut out bad / cynical tackles & play acting.

Away goals should only count double in normal time. Why should the away team in the second leg get a possible extra 30 minutes to score one.

            They don't though do they?

The away goal rule can only end the game surely?

Edit: maybe me being stoopid, I can't work it out in my head haha

I think G means that the away goal scored in extra time counts double leaving the home team absolutely **** all time to do anything.
Some would argue that the away side has to face the home crowd and battering for an extra 30mins as way of compensation, but whether that's as much as handicap is another thing entirely.

                      something like that?

I'm sure we already have a rule like that

This may not help you during the game, but players geting bans / cards invoked / revoked may help modify their behaviour & cut out bad / cynical tackles & play acting.

Retrospective punishments should have a greater penalty than the same fault penalized on the field of play to try and encourage more honesty from the players.

For example something that would receive a yellow if seen in the game should be a red and a red should be red +1 game.

I'd like to see more punishment options for the referee like a sin bin for example. I think it's hard for the referees when the only choices they have is to just give a free kick, give a yellow card or give a red card.

Their is a much greater variance of offenses than punishments available.

A red after 2 yellows seems harsh when yellows can sometimes be given so cheaply.

Also I've never liked that the punishment of a red sometimes does not give fair retribution to the team that suffered from the offense. If the star player of a mid table team gets a red card against us in the 89th minute and the next week the same team is playing Man City, for example, that could end up being more a punishment to us than the offending team.

Not sure how that can be fixed though

Stupid rule, but if a player is so thick that they can't control their impulse to take their clothes off in celebration then they get what they deserve. I don't know who started this trend, but for the older fans among us, there was a time when players just stuck their arms up and ran back past the center circle after a goal.

Muscular striker Ade Akinbiyi set the trend in motion when displaying his well-toned frame after scoring for Leicester.

Such was the reaction to his physique, Akinbiyi wisely opted to miss the target for the following 18 months.

The real reason is because of the shirt sponsor.
Apparently, the moment you score a goal is the optimum time for a sponsor to utilise it's brand appeal
is the moment when the manufacturer wants the camera on the shirts..."

and without that representation the sponsor is not getting what they are paying for.

Shouldn't bother the officials though, only the sponsors. I'd like to see

A complete ban of loan players across teams in the same division
Squad sizes limited to no more than 27 players
No loanees over 23 years old
Any player must return to club for a season after being loaned
Any player that is loaned more than 2 times becomes a free agent

Take Lukaku as an example. That's two seasons that Chelsea has decided they don't want him. He should be free to leave this coming season or else be kept in their squad for a season.

                                Re Timewasting

Any player that picks up the ball when it's gone out must take the resulting throw-in or corner. ****ing hate seeing players make it look like they're going to take it and then drop it for the full back.

Goalies must take the goal kick from the side of the goal that the ball went out.

ANY amount of interference with the ball by opponents after the ref's whistle for a free kick to be dealt with. Kicking the ball away is only half the problem.
