Not sure on what technicalities remy Failed his medical, when you consider his medicals at Qpr & Newcastle,& playing prem football for 2 seasons?

Newcastle took a risk on Marveaux after he failed our medical. Maybe they took a risk on Remy too, especially when that risk is lower cos it was only a loan.

i suppose it could come down to whether LFC could obtain insurance for the player based on his medical

I remember Newcastle supposedly doing the same with Demba Ba despite reports that his knee could go at any time.

Didn't seem to bother Chelsea though so maybe it was made up horse****.

Apparently Remy has now failed 4 medicals in his career - the others were for a hole in the wall of his heart. Other clubs brought in specialists before signing him - we (or our insurers) decided against it.

With heart related things it's best to opt out. We don't need a Marc Vivien Foe incident.

I'd love to know more about the details of failed medicals and why some clubs with the same access to experts chance it and some dont. I'm glad we aren't if theres a potential problem though, yeah Ba seems ok (though he's not exactly had much stress on his body at Newcastle who only play on weekends or on Chelsea's bench), Remy has been ok since his failed Marseille medical but who knows what the future holds? Marveaux has barely played a string of games in 4 years. Gabriel Milito failed a Real Madrid medical in 2003, played 4 years fine at Zaragoza afterwards, Barca took a chance, nearly had 1 good season but got injured at the end, barely played for 3 years due to constant injury problems after that and retired at just 31 years old.

Though I don't know I assume Marc Vivien Foe passed his medical when he played for West Ham and Man City?

I see Redknapp has waded into things saying that he can't believe he failed the medical 'never seen a fitter lad'; 'passed medical at QPR and Newcastle'; 'must be another reason' etc.

If he's so fit, why has he failed medicals before then 'arry?

Yep, in hindsight we wish we turned down some more deals having seen players almost continually injured from the outset. Aquilani being the most prominent. He was injured long term when we signed him FFS.
                            Oh I don't know.

                                Yeah, Andy Carroll too.

Also, regarding Marveaux, he's hardly played for Newcastle.
