'We want a loan with a portion of the wages paid by us and another portion by Liverpool.

'We want Balo because we are convinced this lad realises that this is absolutely his last chance. I hope he understands that.'

Balotelli has returned to his native Italy where he wants to wait for negotiations to be resolved.

He is not planning to come back to England and could have a medical on Tuesday.

@Milanello: GdS reports that Milan will pay €3m to loan Balotelli this season, and that Liverpool will pay 50% of his salary.
        @FinallyMario

Supposed to be having a medical tomorrow from GdS also.

I genuinely don't know why so many internet accountants worry about this. What Liverpool need to do is get Balo out of the squad, the city and the country! Paying 50% of hbis wages is a drop in the ocean of modern English football finances. Obviously a sale would be better but I'd hate it if the club held on hoping for that transfer only to be left with him.

Yet another lesson learned. What a joke that signing was, but in a few years I don't think we'll even remember he was ever at the club.

            Waster.

How come they give us 3mill and we give them 50% of his wages, why not just pay the difference.

I thought so too, well just get rid of him either way, we should get rid of all the distractions we can.

If they pay a couple of mill and pays half his wages I say go for it.

It's a good deal. We can spend 100% on his wages and have him stinking the place out or we pay 50% and he can be someone else's problem for a season.

Any current, or future, manager of ours who attempts to buy an Italian player should be sacked on the spot.

Yeah, I like that, an embargo against Italian clubs and players, I don't like them loan deals either.

Don't get me wrong I have no issues buying non Italian players from Italian clubs. It seems that all our recent purchases of Italian players from Italian clubs have been nothing short of a ****ing disaster

Mario Balotelli: Liverpool FC close to agreeing loan deal with AC Milan

                                15:04, 24 AUGUST 2015

                                BY KRISTIAN WALSH

Compromise has yet to be reached over what proportion of Balotelli's wages Liverpool will continue to pay

Liverpool FC are close to agreeing the departure of striker Mario Balotelli to AC Milan on a season-long loan.

The ECHO understands that talks between the clubs are ongoing but the Italy international is expected to seal a return to the San Siro over the next 48 hours.

A compromise has yet to be reached over what proportion of Balotelli's £90,000 per week wages Liverpool will continue to pay, but The Reds are likely to be paying in excess of 99%.

Milan will also negotiate an option to buy the 25-year-old next summer. That will be significantly lower than the £16million Liverpool paid the Serie A outfit for Balotelli a year ago.

Liverpool have been desperate to off-load Balotelli since he managed just one Premier League goal during a miserable first season with the club.

Boss Brendan Rodgers left him out of the pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia and in recent weeks he's been forced to train away from the first-team squad, along with Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique, at Melwood.

Liverpool had hoped to agree a permanent deal for Balotelli but with his value having dropped considerably over the past 12 months they have reluctantly agreed to help subsidise a loan move.
