He reminds me of Papis Cisse in that way... and in quite a lot of other ways actually. Sometimes they fly in but most of the time low flying birds are more at risk than the goal.

Can't help feel the tactics under Rodgers last year contributed to him looking totally ****. If there was ever a striker less suited to playing up top alone and asked to run his arse off its Mario. An offside goal and a worldie aside, Benteke has hardly been on the end of much creativity.

I also agree......mancini was able to get some sort of a song out of him. Mario tested his patience big time but he was half decent for city......
Remember how a lot of us were waiting for sturridge to come back and form a partnership with balotelli??? They were brilliant v spurs away together. I just think brendan never played to his strenghts. You could say the same about a lot of the strikers we had though....lambert, borini, balotelli all looked way worse than they actually are under brendan. If we see a firmino lallana partnership at any point this season - with any of benteke ings and origi on the bench / in the stands, then it just proves that brendan doesnt have a clue how to play to a strikers strenghts..Comment
