Gazza and Lineker for me though. My cousins were all Spurs fans, so they used to talk about them all the time. Gazza was magic wasnt he. I know it was at the end of his career, but his performance against Scotland in Euro 96 was something I will always remember.
I remember more about Lineker going to Japan and stuff. Thinking he was cool as **** for doing it.
Also for some totally bizarre reason I loved Steve Stone.
*Except Michael, who died.

We used to have pitched battles between Celtic and Aberdeen fans when I was that age. It would start off as a rudimentary game of football (sometimes not even with a football, we might use a tennis ball, a can, an orange or a dead mouse or whatever was around), but whenever someone scored, a rock would get thrown and things would escalate. All out warfare. There were no Rangers fans back then, because they were proper, proper crap and nobody liked them.Originally posted by Alex View PostWell when I was 8/9 I wasn't an adult with fully formed opinions. I almost forgot roger palmer of Oldham. He looked like a chicken. Strange neck. Yet for a season or two with that plastic pitch, Oldham were some cup team. You could almost guarantee palmer would score. Used to love him. Also andy Ritchie, ian Marshall, Ricky Holden, Earl Barrett.

I had a video of the Brazil route to winning the 94 world cup and remember watching it literally hundreds of times as a kid (I was 7 in 1994Originally posted by Daniel 7 View Post

Great shouts them two. Hirst was brilliant, people forget how good he was. United were desperate for him pre-Cantona but Wednesday turned down £5m + McClair (a lot then) and the Hirst got a bad injury and it was all downhill after that. IMO Hirst was better than Shearer. Or should've been. They made their England debuts in the same game (I went) but Hirst was too injury-prone and liked his ale too much.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI used to like Dalian Atkinson and David Hirst. Dalian scored some amazing goals and Hirst could hit it so hard.
I think he still holds the record for the hardest shot ever recorded in the Prem. 114mph FFS

My favourite player of all time is Zidane...a genius.
A bit more random for me would be Kinkladze & Denilson.. ridiculous close control. Bergkamp was incredible to watch aswell. Also loved AC Milan as a kid likes of Rijkaard,Gullit,Van Basten to Boban, Savecivic, Baggio etc what incredible sides.Last edited by danperkins; 17-03-15, 09:25 PM.

Matthew Le Tissier for me. He looked really lazy but carved through defences like butter and scoured a good few
goals. His loyalty to the one club was admirable also.
