Haha that goal is really making me laugh. Great memories indeed. Football was better then - and I know that makes me a "better in my day" cunt.

And me. The 87 cup final made quite an impression on me for some reason. It was the first cup upset I experienced and I thought it was like the end of civilization itself.

              Yep

              And Luton's plastic pitch.

Haha exactly the same here. I went outside after the match and practised diving headers on my own - throwing the ball to myself and diving to head it

The FA Cup final was such a big deal then. Such a shame it's not the same any more.

                    Love this thread.

Wembley was a proper special stadium in those days, a unique place. Now it is a ****hole.

John Sheridan was another player I liked. Classy player him. I watched a lot of that Wednesday team (I had a free season ticket in the early 90s), they were a really good side and enjoyable to watch.

Anyone remember this John Harkes screamer?

Roberto Baggio, Fat Ronaldo, Lillian Thuram were all favourites.

A little closer to home Claudio Canigga almost got kicked to death by Cameroon at Italia 90 and wound up signing for Dundee a decade or so later (and then Rangers)
Eric Black from Ferguson's great Aberdeen side
Paul Sturrock was a wonderful footballer in his hay day
Goalkeepers Hamish McAlpine and Aberdeen era (first time round) Jim Leighton
Big John Clark is another from Dundee United team of the mid/late 80s. Those games and his goal against Barcelona are seared on my memory.
First cup final my old man took me too was the 87 Scottish Cup final when that cunt Ian Ferguson scored in extra time for St Mirren
Paul McStay from Celtic. Maddening to watch at times but great when the mood took him.

Any team with Roland Nilsson in it was alright by me.

I always liked Trevor Sinclair and hoped we would sign him.

One of the best right backs the Prem has seen. Top player he was.

Steve Sutton was another I liked - ****in ace keeper at Forest.
