Ted McMinn. Tall fella who looked like he ran a bookies, too tall for a winger but somehow glided past people.

I think it was a privilege to be 11 yrs old, an age when football is at its most exciting and romantic, and have that coincide with Italia 90. I guess being 11 for the last world Cup was pretty underwhelming.

Anyway, apart from the obvious England memories, I vividly remember Tony Dorigo making his first world Cup appearance in the third place playoff and me solemnly declaring to my Dad I expected great things of him. Based on what I don't know.

Dorigo seemed somehow slightly glamorous, with his fancy surname, olive skin and curly dark-haired mullet. And he had a free kick in his locker.

                The tin man

Ended up having to get his leg amputated.

Said it before but Paul Warhurst went through a patch of brilliance but then got shifted to that many different positions he lost focus on what he was best at.

The first real utility player, think he played in just about every position. Pretty sure he went in goal once

                    ****in hell.

David White at City was a good player. Really quick and stylish.

Anyone seen him recently? **** me

He scored a **** load for one season, and one season only, didn't he?

Paul Warhurst played for that Wednesday team, I remember in the build up to the cup final, a few hours before kickoff they showed the teams practising in the days prior. The players were hitting balls through tyres that were strung up. Cue Paul Warhurst hitting a bullet that went straight through the middle without touching the sides! Unreal shot. Me and my 3 mates that lived and breathed football were gobsmacked. Went out afterwards pracitising like mad. I often think of that shot.

I wonder how Shrearer would have gone playing abroad?

Danny Thomas was a great prospect at RB for Spurs, sadly his career ended prematurely by injury.

**** yeah. Lightning quick ball carrying centre half by trade but got moved up front in an emergency when Sheff Wednesday had no fit strikers. For about 6 months he was absolutely electric ...became one of the most feared strikers around for a time and got called into the England squad but had to pull out due to injury and from there he went backwards.

I remember him absolutely destroying Blackburn (strong then) in a League Cup semi final at Ewood Park.

(love the fella with the crutches going barmy behind the goal with the Wednesday fans )
