Thanjk you.

I've said it before many times. I think Nationalism generally brings out the worst in people and there are too many countries in the world. And the national chest beating I find regressive, pointless embarrassing and I don't identify with it.
A bit like religion for you, I suppose.
**** em all generally. But for Sunday I'm firmly supporting one team.
I tentatively support your temporary and ambiguous passion

could you not swap clubism for nationalism though?
there are more dimensions and its worse for country though
England are a decent well drilled team, great at set pieces but with a lack of top class creative and finishing ability. Lingard for me is the obvious weak link in that starting XI and if we could swap him for a genuine creative, goal scoring midfielder then they’d be in a much better position.
Nail on head
Kane was static during the last two games, without say an erikson to pick him out he offered **** all
Dele Alli also dreadful, personally I don’t think he was ever fit and shouldn’t have been starting
Sterling, without wanting to jump on the bandwagon bashing him, lacks and has always lacked that final bit of quality
Lingard also, does some good but fails to deliver real class when needed
For me I’d have had rashford starting
Also reckon England were crying out for ox instead of lingard in that role
They worked hard, they gave it their all, they were likeable and Southgate has been brilliant but ultimately we lacked a bit of top quality/class in the final third
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
The Spurs lads were utterly pathetic. Trippier was woeful on both goals though well done for the free kick. Alli seemed to think the game was a diving competition and Kane was a total waste of space. And Eric Dier, one of the worst players to ever play at a world cup comes on and stinks the joint out to complete the set.
I refused to get carried away about the England run which has been called negative but for me not much has changed they went out to the first good team that they faced. They played well for a game and a half (1st half vs Panama and vs Sweden). Their game plan was ultimately to play for set pieces which in fairness worked well up to the semi, but you can't just rely on that and that showed. Despite all the goals I don't think that the attacking side of the team really worked so many came from set pieces. For me I thought he needed to change tactics for Croatia, ok they went in front but never looked in control, in the end I thought that they went out with a wimper.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
The hype was encapsulated by the narrative that Sterling was doing great. Poor control, could't beat a man, couldn't pass to a teammate and with a weaker shot than my toddler, but he apparently caused chaos by running alone. Showed a complete lack of awareness of what is actually required of players at this level.
