And I'm also pretty happy that that's where it ended.
Preparing your team to improve as the tournament goes on is basic stuff, that well respected coaches do. It's called periodisation.

They got as far as they did, partly due to the quality of their opponents. As soon as they came up against decent opposition, they lost (Belgium-albeit both reserve teams, and Croatia).

        Totally agree with Roy Keane.

The ‘it’s coming home’ stuff started a game too early. Looking to the final before they’ve won the semi.

Roy Keane v Wright kicking off now.

To think that this World Cup campaign started with Sam Alardyce as England manager.
            Oh I don't know.

And included a last minute Harry Kane equaliser to get a draw at Hampden v Scotland.

England are a decent well drilled team, great at set pieces but with a lack of top class creative and finishing ability. Lingard for me is the obvious weak link in that starting XI and if we could swap him for a genuine creative, goal scoring midfielder then they’d be in a much better position.

                    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

So looking forward to World Cup 2022 who will be some of the next generation to play for England?

The ones I can think of are -

Phil Foden, Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reese Oxford, Ademola Lookman, Rhian Brewster, Jadon Sancho.
                            Was muß, das muß.

Congrats to your Croatian half tonight Dom.

You’d have had to share the final with The whole of England had they won, this way it’s just for you.
