The only reason that people have been up for this one is that we've been lucky with the teams we've met to get as far as we have and for once you don't have to hate most of the team. This is really refreshing which makes people happy but I don't think it translates into us being any good, and I don't see any hype around that.

Absolutely loads of hype around England. If you can't see that fair enough but outside of England the hype is a source of much merriment.

This is the problem - context.

Look at the teams you faced. If you hadn't reached the semi-finals having faced those teams, there would've been something seriously wrong.

It's like when people say before the start of a season, 'oh I want us to get 4th and a cup'. What happens if we draw Man City away in FA Cup, Man Utd away in the Carabao Cup and get Real Madrid, Dortmund and Inter in the Champions League Group Stages, and get knocked out in all of them at the first attempt?

Even Greece had to face top players and teams to win Euro 2004.

I find it difficult to even judge how good this England team is, because of the quality they've faced, and that they've lost against the only two decent teams they've faced.

3 defeats from 7 and some of the dullest attacking football from an England side ever. Southgate has been blagging it, can't see the worship lasting long.

It's been a fun World Cup but extremely low on quality. Harry Kane has somehow fluked the top scorer award despite being absolutely ****ing dreadful.

Same as every other game. A competent side trying to play a system that they don't have good enough players for. Fabien Delph and Eric Dier

And England need to get over this Kane thing, If a striker isn't in form you don't play him, you don't make him captain and try and win him a non-trophy like the golden boot. It's all too Tottenham. If you rely on anything Tottenham, you'll fail.
