the worst I can remember. Bit of drama but none of the big boys showed up really & the standard of football itself has been dreadful. One to forget.

Yes and no. Many of the big teams no showed and that was disappointing, making the latter stages about lacklustre. However, there were some brilliantly entertaining games. For me nothing was as irritating and **** as the vuvuzela cup.

Without wanting to sound overly dramatic but the Witsel yellow card, for me, highlights absolutely everything that is wrong with the snidey bull**** that goes on in football. I don't care if for a month or so every game is abandoned due to too many red cards.

3rd minute of 3 minutes of stoppage time and England free kick in their own half and Witsel is standing one yard in front of the man delaying play.

It's a game that nobody wants to play in. Completely pointless. Apart from the Olympics there's not another football knock out competition with a 3rd / 4th place play off.

As a game, it doesn't make any sense.

They are being lauded as "hero's" because they beat a few **** teams and then got beaten by every good team they faced, belgium twice and croatia once.
