I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

      kuyt: double with nobs on

      bellers:

gonzalez: but young enough to settle

pennant: and despite youth SHOULD have settled by now because hes played in the epl for a good while. lets hope that goal boosts his confidence and spurs him on.

aurelio: showing the right signs, it was bound to take a while for a brazilian coming from la liga to settle

Kuyt More goals would have been nice but it is great to see our forward working so hard

Bellers Still needs to do a little bit more IMO - should learn from Dirk (Kuyt, not Bennedict)

Pennant If he carries on his recent form he could very quickly become a regular

Gonzales Body language is not good - maybe next season

Aurelio Have a lot of confidence in this guy - will also become a regular if he continues to improve as he has done

Paletta Might be a bit harsh but he looks lost out there

Kuyt has been tremendous, should ahve scored more but has worked his arse of for the benefit of the team.
Bellers has played very well after the court case finished. Shaky start but now seems to be enjoying himself.
Pennant and Gonzo hit and miss, but Pennant is starting to show some promise.
Aureilo-so so, is starting to settle in now.

Kuyt - brilliant so far - he works so hard for the team and also chips in with goals. I'm hopeful he can add more goals before the season's out.

Bellers - good so far, but needs to use his pace more to make the most of his game. The goals will also flow with confidence.

Pennant - I said he's no more than a squad player when he signed and I stick with that. Done ok, but will be benched when Momo returns. Good wide option though.

Gonzales - been unlucky with injuries so far especially when he seems to be settling into the side. More to come from Speedy as he's young and still settling in. Good goal threat for us too.

Aurelio - unsure as to where his best position is on the left flank, but a steady player and very good squad option. Offers good experience for us.

Paletta - can look a bit lost out there at times but is still raw and inexperienced, so I'll give him time. Still settling into a new culture from afar and will come good in years to come. Time on his side.

So overall, I think they've been good and Rafa has done some decent business with this lot. Given a good settling in period I feel that most, if not all can become part of something big at Anfield in the years to come.

Great to be positive these days init!

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Although, hopefully Paletta will step up next season (I can't disagree with your assessment of him this season though)

I fear despite his cracker of a goal at the weekend Pennant is turning out to be a lost cause.......I hope I'm wrong......

Pennant I think he has done good in the last 10 matches.
Gonzales Has not delivered but he's young and he does have something!
Aurelio = Not suited - look for potential buyers.

Pennant didn't do much else than scoring a fantastic goal against Chelsea. His crosses was still not good enough.

He has been good enough in one game this season IMO and that's simply not good enough.

I don't get this "Pennant has come good" stuff

He's even saying it himself. "I've proved the doubters wrong". Sorry, Jermaine? One great goal doth not a great player make! Yes, he's made marginal improvements but he is still incapable of beating a man and this "marginal improvement" does not in any way, shape or form mean he is LFC standard.

It's early days for all of them so any over the top praise/abuse should be taken lightly:

Kuyt - pretty good start, then faded, but now looking good again. Looks like a good player but I've got reservations as to whether he's the high goal scorer we were hoping for: 7.5/10

Aurelio - hasn't had the priviledge of a run in the first team but from what I've seen, and bearing in mind he was free, he could be useful squad player worth keeping: 6/10

Gonzalez - like aurelio, has had to adapt to a new country/lifestyle/language/custom etc etc and allowances should be made. Has shown signs of promise and will probably be a LOT better next season: 6.5/10

Pennant - has been pretty useful at times...shocking on other occasions. Obviously has the ability so maybe needs a bit more support from the fans. Worth keeping but even at his best I don't see him as an LFC first choice right winger: 6/10

Paletta - haven't seen enough to be able to judge. the odd game/10 mins here and there tells us nothing at all. mark out of 10 not applicable.

Bellamy - anonymous at times, but looks good enough for the squad on occasions aswell. rarely looks up, is always offside, picks out the wrong pass way too often and isn't confident/talented enough to a selfish high goalscorer. Certainly isn't anywhere near good enough to be a first choice LFC striker. good enough to be a regular on the bench but something tells me his personality won't stand for that. As soon as we've got some decent investment and top quality striker, bellamy will be off - couldn't say whether that will be his or rafa's choice though: 6.5/10
