The thing I find bizarre is that the FA are questioning his original registration now yet they allowed it when he joined West Ham. Seems to me that Liverpool found out the truth and declared it and West Ham hid it first time round....or the FA just completely missed it.

The FA are in a corner here and I expect them to crumble to save face.

By crumble to save face do you mean they will or they won't let the transfer happen?

They'll let it happen. FIFA have allowed it and when they come to their senses they'll (the FA) realise that they too will fall foul of employment laws if their restrict Javier's ability to ply his trade elsewhere.

That seems the most likely scenario.

Hopefully it's not to long now before we find out.

Are you sure it didn't come up in Lord Stevens' report on bungs in football?

The problem with the JM transfer is not about agent fees or bungs etc, it's about joint ownership. That was outside the remit of the Stevens' Enquiry.

Thanks for your reply. It's very strange that this is only coming to light now and not when they signed for West Ham. The fact that they are both partly owned by MSI was all over the news at the time.

They've been threatened with legal action by teams beaten by West Ham in cup matches that Tevez has played in (and no doubt PL teams will be monitoring closeley as well), hence why it has now come up, it can't come up prior to him (them) signing for West Ham and subsequently playing can it?

But, there is no transparancy is what is the major point, so I reckon they are trying to fudge it somehow to prevent legal action being taken, and then losing that action, which seems likely, the correct due diligence on their contracts prior to signing for WHU would have prevented this I presume, so someone is not looking safe & secure in their employment at the FA.

                      It stinks.

Mascherano given shirt nr 20 according to liverpool.no

Alvaro Arbeloa, Javier Mascherano and Daniele Padelli all entered in the European squad..

Padelli has shirt nr 30 btw...

Luis García, Steve Warnock, Miki Roque and Adam Hammill are out of the european squad

It never ceases to amaze me how much news Liverpool.no seem to get before everybody else.

Padelli is the worst goalkeeper in the history of football....if FM2007 is anything to go by.

I understand three of the four European omissions, but what has poor Miki Roque done to deserve getting booted out of the squad?!

Masher, and maybe even Arbeloa, could come in very handily indeed in the games against Barca.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

'Masher' still needs clearance from the FA to play in the Champions League it seems...

I think Curbishley said something along the lines of "We knew of their interest, we knew Javier wanted to leave, so we didn't stand in their way."
